DAILY DEBATE: Do we go over 9.5 wins?

Wish I could bet the o/u at 9.5 after the first one. Sadly it doesn’t work that way.

Im with you for the most part. Just skeptical of the coaching.

For sure. Obviously a massive swing game in week 1. Win and 9.5 is very likely. Lose and it’s going to be a lot tougher.

Only way 9 wins is a success imo is if we’re in Charlotte.

9 wins and make it to ACCCG, or 10 wins is a successful year in my opinion. ACC schedule ****ery could hit us again, but 10 wins in back to back years would have to be seen as success regardless.

9-3

L to ND or UF
L to Louisville or SMU
L to VT or Pitt

20+ years of BS prevents me from going into any season with optimism until I see it proven on the field one year.

10-2

L to Louisville or @SMU
L to @VT or @Pitt (late road games while injuries/fatigue pile up)

Coin toss if that makes ACCCG

Can we lose 1 ACC and not make it?
Possible but not likely.

Since 2005, there have been 3 instances where a one loss team did not make the conference title game.

2012: FSU (8-0) / Clemson (7-1)
Both in Atlantic division

2013: FSU (8-0) / Clemson (7-1)
Both in Atlantic division

2016: Clemson (7-1) / Louisville (7-1)
Both in Atlantic division

It has not happened since we moved away from divisions in 2023.

Yea i get that, 9 wins and charlotte would probably mean we own the tie breaker with another team. That Louisville game is one of the most important games

10 wins would be a huge success after positive cam and the top6 offensive guys.

A bunch of the players the fanbase is expecting to have big roles are gonna be playing their first real snaps in college so its really more likely next years team is the one people are expecting this year.

I feel you but we can't keep kicking the can down the road, we have no idea who the QB will be next year and we'll be losing a lot in the trenches on both sides. I don't expect to be a legit title contender this year but if we can't get to Charlotte OR win 10 games this year, I think it's time for a real conversation about Cristobal.

Last year was a success imo. I get people being ****ed about the ending but 10 wins is a success, and while we should've beat the two teams we lost to, there's an argument to be made that had Clemson or SMU had to play both of them as well we would've been in Charlotte. We should've been able to overcome it but it was still an unfortunate result of the unbalanced conference schedules.

If we either make the conference championship game and/or win 10 games in any given year I'll never complain. Failure to do either of those in year 4 with this roster would be a massive failure.

Its not really kicking the can down the road..Are players are literally just young lol like full mario classes are just now about to play real snaps. I think people are rushing the process

Yea we probably won’t have a qb this level but that doesn’t mean the roster is ready for the expectations, like we saw last year lmao

We keep overrating the rosters we have, like this roster isn’t one to say acc or bust to me. Can we make it there? Yes. Is the roster that far ahead that it should be a guarantee? No

I think we can have a real conversation but i don’t think that means 9 wins is a failure. The real conversation about mario can be had right now if we being honest lol…This all depends on what people’s expectations are of mario and this program

Was thinking 9/10 wins but the confidence D and Pete showed on the pod has me feeling better about the 10. The two guys who have watched a lot of practice and have the intel both said over. And Pete is usually very realistic. So I was surprised

The cool part about this thread is I’m sure there will be some very strong takes, and you can put your money where your mouth is on this.

If you live in Florida, the first screenshot is from HardRock Sportsbook. Drop some bread.

If you’re in a DraftKings state, their line is the 2nd screenshot.

One thing i know for sure. If you have access to both books, and use Hard Rock to place this wager. You're an idiot, and should stop gambling.
