Because the Dade kids parents moved to Broward.
it’s hilarious how south Florida thinks about ****..Dade and Broward are 25-40 min apart depending on the area..as though living that close would have anything todo with who has more talent..Dade imo and probably factually simply has a greater/denser population than Broward. This breeds greater comp/talent ..therefor greater chance for more talent then in Broward..Broward has caught up tho[/QUOTE]

What’s everyone’s theory on the fall off of the PBC Muck City powerhouse schools? I’ve heard economy pushed families out. But to where?

Actually it depends where you are. Miramar is a five minute walk to Dade county. Where I live in Hollywood is maybe a 10 minute drive to Aventura. But you are correct. The population boom over the last 20 years is why there’s more football talent in Broward than before. The major difference between Dade and Broward football programs is that the public schools in Dade still keep a majority of the talent. The top Dade schools are all public schools. In Broward, the private schools poach all the good players. St. Thomas, American Heritage and Chaminade Madonna have a majority of the county’s top players. There’s still some really good public schools, Deerfield is probably the best but the traditional Broward public powerhouses (Dillard, Ely, Boyd Anderson) all suck now because their best players all go to other schools.

They lost to Columbus in the playoffs and Columbus isn’t really a top Dade program.
They've fared very well against S Fl teams...
Rick Darlington left...and the program slipped a hair...when he was there..they beat a Dade team for a State Championship...

That’s 1000% correct

They beat northwestern, Cypress Bay and Columbus (‘14) in the state title game.

Columbus has won one out of 3 state title game appearances since 2014. Theyre the best 8A school in Dade. How are they not a top Dade program?

Way back in the day, Dade High Schools drew 50,000 plus in the Orange Bowl Boward Country cows were just ending the free range days. English was spoken everywhere, well some of the English was still difficult to understand. There was no AC and no I 95. Then disaster struck, no not the Cuban invasion but rather the Turnpike and the expansion of I 95 that allowed the great unwashed of the Yankee horde to descend in winter. The last nail was frigging Central AC. After that the just stayed. Strangely, the greatest HS player was not from Overtown, Coral Gables, or even the cursed North, but Guatemala -- MR Ted Hendricks later known as THE MAD STORK. GO figure.
