Dade County HS Football....

St. Frances is an IMG Academy. Those schools aren't even allowed to participate in the playoffs because it would be unfair. Not familiar with the rest though.

Lowndes and Marietta are public schools and are playing each other in the Georgia 7A State Championship tonight.

Here’s the deal on why sofla schools are truly dominate over everyone else in the state of Florida but not necessarily the top programs throughout the country....

Most, not all, of sofla schools get away with pure speed, athleticism and dawg. They’ll play cover 0 or 1, lock down your receivers, put everyone in the box and bring it to your a**.... The offense literally has 2 seconds to make something happen and many offensive lines throughout the state can’t handle those athletes and being outnumbered

Out of state POWERHOUSES (not just anybody), usually has GREAT offensive lines and really really good schemes to attack the freestyle defenses that you see in sofla. There’s truly only two schools in the state of Florida that can do this, STA and IMG (occasionally you’ll see the top sofla teams whoop them too)

All in all, point is sofla kids are DAWGS and it takes true powerhouse programs with really good offensive line play and coaching to beat them. If the state of Florida ever stepped up the pay scale for coaching, things would be crazy down here...

You don't win a State Championship in Florida, anywhere for that matter, playing "freestyle" ball.

South FL has 7 million people u dont think there is enough talent in a place with 7 million ppl to have talent at more than 3 schools?

5...and all of those schools are on the West side of I-95, where all of the football talent resides. Can't remember the last time a school from the East side of 95 won one.

Lol you took that word little too literal lol... it definitely wasn’t a knock at the man to man ‘out athlete’ the other team concept... it was just referring to the see ball go get ball nature! They do a good job of keeping it simple. Man to man, come off the edge, peel rule stuff... it’s actually a beautiful thing seeing them play. Lol not everything is an argument

Every metro area splits kids bro. In orlando evans basketball team would win the state every year but they split kids with wekiva, apopka, jones, and west orange. What doesnt happen though is all the kids DO NOT just stack up on the same schools.

Ninja..dont ever compare Orlando to inner city miami.lol...talking bout some evans. lmao.

Those schools arent even close...i mean jones and wekiva/apopka are like 15+ miles away from each other.

The miami schools i listed are all in a 5 mile radius brah.

This man here is right.

MNW is an example of this. they literally will cover 1 you the whole game...no variance. And if you cant handle it...all she wrote.

Thats basically almost all of south fla. My alma mater for example played cover 1 against BTW in the spring...BTW comes out in 5 wide typically all game. All spring gearing up for the game i figure it would be a problem. The DC could care less...BTW easily picks that sh*t apart in first half as they didnt even hold the ball 3 seconds from the snap. QB caught in and just slung it.

Also some of yall need to really ask about these oos games...for example...Miami Central won states..but Miami Central isnt a team THIS year that was built for that Baltimore team. Simply werent a good match up. Also sometimes teams get better later in the year with more experience. I think MNW or BTW won states with 5 losses recently.

A GOOD LOOK, TO HIRE COACHES FROM DADE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOLS TO ASSIST IN RECRUITING AND COACHING.....🙌🏿

Yeah, if they would've played that team with Yearby and Cook it would've been a different ball game...that Yearby and Cook team beat Bosco like 55-13 or some $h!t.

Central lost to St Francis (MD) 49-13
Northwestern lost to Lowndes (GA) 48-21
Champagnat Catholic lost to Lowndes (GA) 44-14
Champagnat Catholic beat Christ Presbyterian (TN) 25 - 0

Edgewater, who plays St Thomas, lost to Marrieta (GA) 34-24

Your champions lost to out of state powers.
If you put that list up against those same outbid state teams the record is way in the favor of south Florida. This was an off year

Cool story.

Every year fluctuates and i respect Lowndes program for years. The St Francis thig i dont know about much as its the first time i essentially heard of a Baltimore fb program worth a sh*t..but im guessing its similar to Dematha where they have ALLLLL the top area kids at that 1 school.

I'm not sure what got into Maryland football the past 5-10 years...Not sure if they are recruiting the whole dmv? But not just St. Francis, who blew out Central, Norland, and IMG... But the DC team that killed Southridge (obv I know Southridge was down this year) and beat Deerfield 52-30, St.John's had 5 losses this year! The team they lost too, OLGC, obviously has developed into a power in recent years.

Yep.

Dade teams have won their share of those games, nearly all of which are played on the road for financial reasons.

The West beating Southlake Carroll when they were the top two teams in the country.

Booker T winning 55-0 against a Norcross team that went on to win the 6A state championship in Georgia.

Central ending Hoover's 30-game winning streak.

Plus the Dade public school powers line up against IMG every year.

Wonder why St. Thomas Aquinas doesn't play IMG each season.

Defer to LCE and gogets, but this year's state champions from MNW, MC and BYW looked middle of the road by those school lofty standards.

From the starting lineups they displayed on the broadcasts, it looks like all three of those teams could be better in 2020.

Actually you do. We've seen it time and time again in the state of Florida. It's athlete ball, and has been for years. When you hire guys from the neighborhood with zero coaching ability, or experience, that's the kind of product you will see. I remember having this conversation with some people on my floor freshman year at The U. They played ball at some of the local schools, we compared our HS playbooks for ***** and giggles. My run of the mill Texas 5A playbook looked like Ulysses compared to the basic crap they ran. Two of those kids had state championship rings.

South Florida produces some of the finest athletes in the nation, but when it comes to coaching, it's nonexistent. Some guys are so uniquely talented, they can rely on their natural talent until they learn. Those are the kids that Clemson, Alabama and other schools go out and buy. Miami on the other hand, has to develop the local kids for 1-2 years. Unfortunately, Miami hasn't had a teaching staff worth a **** in almost 20 years.

Like I said, you don't get to, or win a State Championship, playing "freestyle", do WTF you wanna do football...it just doesn't happen. And you compared your HS playbook to kids from Dade, good for you, you won first prize in the "That's Not WTF I Was Talking About" contest. But, those "dumbed down" playbooks were good enough to bring home 5 State Championships this year...LOL.

Ive been saying it all year....this years team for those 3 are the most watered down versions you will see in a while. All those teams are young..**** MNW may go for a 4 peat.

The bolded is wrong. What makes you think they are getting the ones that are apparently smarter...NAW they are getting the ones with the unreal talent. All these kids are coming out of the same pools.

Things you can put money on yearly and make....is a south florida kid coming into ANY college more ready to play than their counter parts.

Perfect example is....Jon Vilma and DJ Williams. I mean DJ Williams was #1 recruit in nation coming from the best coaches in the world at Delasalle...and some no name from Coral Gables had him over there playing fb his freshman year.

I don’t get this argument at all. Being poorly coached and being superior athletes aren’t mutually exclusive. South Florida schools out athlete every part of America, but they are poorly coached. When they lose to OOS powers it’s bc those schools have kids that play together for years. They don’t have these mercenaries that transfer 3 times in 4 years.
