D Williams reportedly 90% committed

Well Chris Broussard was reporting LeBron was 90% committed to the Cavs and it worked out well for them. So I'm liking our chances.

Classic Canesport puff piece! Nothing new just that he is "90%" committed but will take official visits everywhere but Miami since he's been here so many times & can come whenever he wants. Sound familiar? Blah blah blah :stormwarning:

There is a an article up on CS that says there is a 90% chance he sticks. Can someone share details.

This young man coud be the next coming of Clinton Portis, which would be great for UM.

Go Canes

Portis was a very different situation. UF was recruiting him as a defensive back only. He chose UM, bc we offered him as a running back.

I meant Dexter Williams compares to Clinton Portis interms of ability, versatility, build and running style.

IIRC Portis was headed to South Carolina until he was suspended for starting a fight in a high school football game. That got his scholarship from UsC revoked and UM reaped the benefits.

Orlando (FL) Olympia High School and Cane commitment Dexter Williams, once a very soft commitment, now says he's "really leaning toward Miami."

He says there's a "90 percent chance" he winds up attending UM.

"They just really want me to be a Cane," said Williams, whose primary recruiter is Hurlie Brown. "I didn't realize I was one of the top prospects they had on their list. They told me I can make a lot of things better there. They really want me to sign early so I can get there, get a chance and play in the spring."

Williams says he plans to take some visits, starting with Florida later this month.

"I'll go there July 25th, will go to Miami probably after Florida," Williams said.

He also wants to take an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this summer, and says if he doesn't do that he'll make the Irish an official visit. He also plans to take official visits to Michigan, Ohio State and USC.

He doesn't plan to take an official visit to UM because "I can go there anytime I want."

Williams says a determining factor for him will be how UM's season goes this year.

"I'm waiting to see everything," he says.

He anticipates making up his mind for sure around the end of his season.

Even though he plans to be qualified to graduate early he may wait because "I want to help track win states."

* Asked, should Cane RB commit Mark Walton reclassify to 2015 if that would affect his commitment status, Williams sad, "Not really. Football is all about competition. Anywhere you go you'll still have competition, will compete for that spot. That's what I'm about. I love to compete."

Well, that doesn't bode well.

I swear over the past 2 weeks we have had 10 articles about him saying the same thing over and over again. He's committed, let it play out.Im sure it will all work out in the end.

The bottom line is Dexter and JC are looking around and keeping their options open, I would love them in the class but if Walton reclassifies, we will have him and Scarlett, thats a crowded backfield.

If this is really the case, Florida is definitely screwed :)
