Orlando (FL) Olympia High School and Cane commitment Dexter Williams, once a very soft commitment, now says he's "really leaning toward Miami."
He says there's a "90 percent chance" he winds up attending UM.
"They just really want me to be a Cane," said Williams, whose primary recruiter is Hurlie Brown. "I didn't realize I was one of the top prospects they had on their list. They told me I can make a lot of things better there. They really want me to sign early so I can get there, get a chance and play in the spring."
Williams says he plans to take some visits, starting with Florida later this month.
"I'll go there July 25th, will go to Miami probably after Florida," Williams said.
He also wants to take an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this summer, and says if he doesn't do that he'll make the Irish an official visit. He also plans to take official visits to Michigan, Ohio State and USC.
He doesn't plan to take an official visit to UM because "I can go there anytime I want."
Williams says a determining factor for him will be how UM's season goes this year.
"I'm waiting to see everything," he says.
He anticipates making up his mind for sure around the end of his season.
Even though he plans to be qualified to graduate early he may wait because "I want to help track win states."
* Asked, should Cane RB commit Mark Walton reclassify to 2015 if that would affect his commitment status, Williams sad, "Not really. Football is all about competition. Anywhere you go you'll still have competition, will compete for that spot. That's what I'm about. I love to compete."
