D$, thoughts on Nebraska??

Not D$, but I think for 52 mins we handed Nebraska their asses. Not so much the last 8 mins. In the end, we won, which is always better than a loss.

It's crazy if you focus on the first 52 min you see the potential of what we could be. We could play with anybody.

Nebraska doesn't have great talent I mentioned this before, that should of been a 40 point blow out
Cincinnati might be worse

Haven't had a chance to watch the replay yet, so I'm hesitant to go too far in-depth.

Miami was prepared to play and executed well. They weren't just out-athleting Nebraska-- they were precise. Much different than last week. I expected Kaaya to have a big day against Nebraska's sub-par secondary and he did. Tyre Brady caught my eye with his improvement in camp, so I'm happy to see him have success.

The collapse was extremely concerning. Armstrong made some sensational plays against the blitz and our defense failed to make the 50/50 plays. I've said since spring that Bush and Grace are much better than their peers, and this game showed how our defense suffers without them.

But, truthfully, I'm just happy to get a win. There are those who say it's a win that feels like a loss. But considering the schedule coming up, there will be plenty of opportunities for losses that feel like losses. Even Cincinnati is a trap game. Given what's ahead, I'll take the W.

A W is a loss for the program as a whole.

You should know Golden isn't a championship coach and any chance that he stays ,further kills Miami.

Nebraska aint a cupcake....even in Rileys first season most consider them to be one of the best in their conference. Shouldve beat a good BYU team that lost to UCLA by one point.

Cincinnati though is bad. Even though Kiel got injured, they barely beat the other Miami that lost to Wisky by 50 plus....

Riveting insight. Do you really think Tracy Howard sucks?

Quote where I said Tracy Howard sucks. I said he isn't as talented as people think he is. He's a small corner who is not very fast.

Do you disagree? If so, give me some evidence besides his Rivals rating.

Howard's best , and probably only hope to play at the next level is to add a little size and move to safety where his lack of straight line speed won't be as big a liability.

Anyone who tries to convince you that that Nebraska team is anything more than a collection of bums who will struggle to win 5 games is lying to you to get you excited and make you feel some positive vibes.

That team had no speed and no playmakers on either side of the ball. It was a one-man show (Armstrong), and he seized up a few times with unconscionable throws directly to our DBs. They had NOTHING.

I watched the game on Saturday. He was always on the ball. He would have had an INT as well except someone (Carter maybe I'll have to go back and look) on our own team prevented it.

Howard plays the ball better than any of our other DB's.

Agree with everything except the bolded. Nebraska game plan seemed to be just go cover 0 while they have no athletes to matchup. We basically emptied our bench with every wr imaginable and all had their first catch or career days going one on one with guys who couldnt matchup. I dont know if they thought going cover 0 was best or what was exact game plan but that was suicide. Not one of their DB could cover our receivers.

In the ACC I really don't think we will face too many Qbs better than Armstrong (second half Armstrong not first half Armstrong.)
That said, we will face much better defenses than Nebraska. Defenses that will be better in the defensive backfield especially. That worries me a bit. But I will enjoy the next two weeks knowing we are undefeated in October and should be undefeated going into the Doak.

If they win more than 5 games, delete your account.

Do you really think that Nebraska team is good?

2015 Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Schedule

They should beat Southern Miss, Illinois, and Purdue.

But it will be tough for them against Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan State.

They'll have to upset 1 of those games, or beat Rutgers AND Iowa to get to 6 wins.

If Nebraska wins 7 games this season, that's a great 1st year for Riley, IMO.

They will win 7-8 games. BYU was an upset, but EVERYBODY knew Miami was going to beat them. Except for canes fans.

Rewatched the game (I usually do because you miss a lot when you're at the game)

We are a poorly coached team

Dallas Crawford has no business being out there at Saftey

The second Bush was ejected, things started to go to sh*t on Defense

I'm not sure why we didn't just keep running the ball in the 4th quarter

Clock management was awful

That's about it

Everybody should be thrilled with our effort and play through 3 1/2 quarters, and very concerned about the last 8 minutes. As D$ wrote though, we really missed Bush and Grace, plus the officiating was atrocious. So its hard to get a good gauge on the defense.
