Mark whipple destroyed Jacory career running that crap. Jay cutlers career has been squandered due to that system.

Shid only works when you have an all pro qb, all pro LT, all pro wr, and all pro rb.

Without that, youre screwed.

But nice post anyway tho. lol

Meacham is 50 and has been a coordinator for 20+ years. He'd be a bad hire IMO.

When looking at Butch, are you only considering his time at Miami, or his entire body of work?

Nick Saban was an AC/DC for almost 20 years as well. I think with Meacham you look at the past 8 years where he had success at Oklahoma State, Houston and now TCU. It is a risk and if I had to make the decision I probably wouldn't, but I think he would bring a dynamic offense. He can score points so if we want to get an AC that can score I am not sure who you rank higher.

Butch Davis
Butch Davis will without a doubt have us one of the best DL in the country. In all my picks they brought something in terms of performance. If we think back to Golden he wasn't known for any one particular thing and that is what he brought us. For Miami we have a lot of DB's in our own back yard and don't have an issue recruiting them. Butch is an expert at evaluating, recruiting and coaching DL. If we hire Butch we will have a top 10 defense year in and year out, and we can finally stop asking if he can play DT.

Fair points on Meacham. I just don't think Miami can afford to hire a guy with no head coaching experience.

With Butch, if he had a dynamic OC he might run train on the entire FBS. The fact he kept Shoop for 4 years is scary.

I don't know about Rich Rod. Def upgrade over Golden, but is he good enough to have Miami competing for the ACC and the playoffs?

I like Fuente, but there's something about his personality that tells me he'd be a bad fit.

Butch at 1 is a little high for me. He's 4th on my list.

Strong looks like trash at UT and I don't want that anywhere near Miami.

Since Golden was ****canned, Butch has always been in my top 4 with Tressel, Herman, and Fuente.

His tenure at UNC scares the **** out of me though. Plus, it's my job as a worthless ******* to counter the over the top Butch fellating going on on this site and Teh wEz.

As much as I worry about who the Head Coach is going to be, I fear we wont be committed as a program to paying for top-flight assistants. Not just OC and DC but the entire coaching staff.

Since we're just throwing out names and scenarios - and full disclaimer I see no way this ever happens - but I'd like to see Butch as maybe Director of Football Operations and a younger, hungrier coach e.g. Herman be the Head Coach. Best of both worlds.
 
Sean Payton would kill it holy ****. He's like Lane Kiffin except not like him at all & can coach.
