D-line recruiting

Guys currently on the roster:

2011
Anthony Chickillo - Decent so far, but needs to step up and become a playmaker.
Corey King - Late signing because we needed bodies. Don't really expect anything.
Jalen Grimble - Hasn't done anything at DT or DE. Not sure how he was a 5-star.
Olson Pierre - Developing nicely. Counting on him to make an impact.


2012
Dequan Ivery - Showed flashes in the UNC game. Hoping he can get into the rotation.
Earl Moore - Needs to get bigger.
Tyriq McCord - Has the makings of a pass rush specialist.
Dwayne Hoilett - Good athlete. Hope he steps up.
Jelani Hamilton - Wasn't ready to play last year, but I think he can set the edge.


2013
Al-Quadin Muhammad - I think he's gonna be special. Great athlete.
Ufomba Kamalu - Is he enrolling???


2014
Courtel Jenkins - Good size. Did well on the camp circuit.
Dalvon Stuckey - Hopefully he can contribute right away.
Demetrius Jackson - Project, but I like prospects who were athletic enough to play basketball.



There should be enough depth this year with the Seniors on the roster and David Gilbert coming over from Wisconsin, but I'm still not seeing impact players, and the depth could get ugly next year.

We need to hit on pretty much ALL of the 2012 guys listed. If that class busts, that leaves a huge hole.

I expect a big DL haul this year. Skating on dem bull**** NCAA charges and beating the Gator will go a long way in securing the 2014 class.

Need to see something from Jethro. Hopefully I'm wrong about dude. D-line needs to make a quantum leap just to be average.

Don't underestimate the Don. Just give it a little time. I'm willing to bet the farm that he digs up some quality JC, or 5th year Grad student-transfer NEXT SPRING/SUMMER to play in 2014, just as he did this year.

Don't you know all the DT's on the current roster suck because they didn't produce as true sophomores and freshmen? No way they may be better than what the village idiots think. It's not like the D-line depth chart was in shambles when Golden took over and it takes D-linemen longer to develop or anything. It must be they all suck right?

There are plenty of threads on this forum. If there are thread topics that do not interest you, might I suggest that you simply not click on them. I'd hate to see a good Canes fan end up going Aaronthal Hernandez.

Or the board could be cleaned up by the mods?

Beating a dead horse clutters the board, fires people up and leads to attacking coaches, players and recruits which can't possibly be a positive.

They just got a commit from the nations #1 DT Andrew Brown to almost certainly add Derrick Ndadi who is a strong UVA lean. This dline class plus the 2013 dline class and oh main is UM's future oline going to get a workout.

Here we go... Paranos is going to give us his "expert" opinion on D-line recruiting? Let's keep in mind Forston was the #1 DT in the nation he did exactly jack **** while at Miami. How about we all wait and see what the talent Golden has brought in over the past couple years does this season on the field before passing judgement? Olsen Pierre was supposedly a nobody and yet he's going to be the best DT on the roster this season IF Porter doesn't get injured and decides to finally produce.
