CW costing us money?

You're calling people idiots for correcting the OP, and "arguing" on a message board? Weird how people have to "find" the CW but you know what shows are playing on it. People that want to find UM vs USF are gonna flip through channels and see its not on a regular sports channel, then Google is and flip to CW. This aint the 90s. Hes also wrong about viewer/revenue because it only counts for ACC games, not OOC. So, yes...we arent ****ed, we're correcting his post.
Majority of CFB fans look at a few channels to see what game is on. They don’t pull up the CFB schedule, check the channel, then look for the channel. We as fans will do that. Pretending like a top 20 matchup on the CW will get as many eyeballs as a top 20 matchup on ABC is disingenuous at best. I was 100% joking about what shows are on the CW. I have no idea. I couldn’t tell you if I’ve ever even watched the CW.

I apologize for calling people idiots and breaking message board etiquette. I drank a rip it for the 1st time in 15 years. They’re dangerous.

Yeah but CW is broadcast everywhere, therefore it’s definitely not a deterrent.

Ignore the fact that Illinois/Duke on ESPN in the same window as Baylor/SMU on CW doubled the viewership, despite being an awful game.

Also ignore that Iowa/Iowa State, a snooze fest with 450 total yards between the two teams, had 4.5x as many viewers as a double OT game with 1,000 total yards including one qb throwing for 440 by himself in the same window.

Also ignore that BYU/Stanford, a game featuring the worst P4 team in the nation that kicked off at 10:15 on the east coast, had more eyes on it than SMU/Baylor, despite being on the impossible to watch ESPN.

Serious question…

If the ACC revenue share only counts for ACC conference games, and Nielsen still is not including the ACC Network (or ESPN+, btw) in its data, how exactly is the ACC measuring viewership? Are they really only going by ABC / ESPN / CW / etc.? Seems pretty problematic.

Truthfully, I wouldn't mind us signing a multi year contract with CW similar to Notre Dame and NBC.

It's so refreshing knowing exactly where your team is going to play every week and not having to be worried about having 30 different apps or streams to watch. And CW is in 90 percent of the country probably. Easy find. It'll be a good look for them post Flash.

Stop bringing up facts. This is a debate based on emotion, not reason.

Playing a top 20 matchup on the CW is 100% some poor conference bs. Not sure why people are giving OP a hard time. People that are watching the CW aren’t stumbling on this game in excitement. They’re ****ed that Buffy or some other rerun isn’t on. Sometimes y’all idiots argue just to argue.
Did anybody envision this game would be a Top 20 matchup? Wasn't the Louisville game on the CW last year?

On youtube tv, the CW game of the week shows up at the top of the screen as a live game every time. If you don't have that service, go here: https://www.cwtv.com/sports/
I have no problem with CW, the referree camera and their sideline camera guys get some crazy good shots of plays. And I wouldn't be surprised if the rating for this one is their best ever, they just got lucky that ESPN and ABC didn't want it in the offseason.

First, what kind of conference leadership doesn’t fight for Miami-South Florida to have a better slot than on CW? Somebody should be raising ****. Other than diehard Canes & USF fans who is gonna search for & find CW? Finally, thought the ACC revenue distribution plan - assuming it’s in place this season - rewards schools based on TV eyeballs, viewership or whatever. If so, this is a major lost opportunity.
It is literally right below NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox on every streaming platform. Direct, Dish, Youtube. Not hard to find at all. It id blacked out on some providers though

Could be wrong, but typical football fan on Saturday isn’t searching out CW.
Anybody scrolling thru random stations looking for football is no fan.

I got my list sorted first by time, then station showing evry game I might care about. And I've got all that before the Thursday night game.
