Current roster

There is of course talent on the team but not as much as would be expected based on analysis of recruiting rankings. Miami has to have one of the highest bust rates of any team in America, not to mention **** poor development. Evaluation is horrendous overall. Alonzo would have helped, but unfortunately Manny vetoed that move. A better question would be why does a coach who got shut out by Louisiana Tech have any type of veto power?

We do have more talent than probably 3/4 of the ACC at least. No excuses.

My take on this is that it's about intensity. The slow starts, bad tackling, dropped passes - I think they can all be tied to a lack of intensity, which I think comes from the program being soft. The kids are not soft. The way they fought back against Virginia, that's not soft. But the way they started, to me, reflects a Suntan U type of program, where there's no fear. The players don't fear that the coach will treat them on the sidelines after they blow something. They're posing for pictures while losing to a bad team in the second quarter. They don't fear having to fight an upperclassman in the locker room. That's my speculation from 2,000 miles away.

cager basically put up the same numbers at UGA that he did here
Junior & Senior year TDs/Yrds stats don't tell the whole story. The difference between big time drops & game winning TD catches where he had to leap and high point the ball in double coverage, etc.

Like I said, specific transfer examples aren't the best, but I still believe the point stands. Maybe 247 and Rivals rating systems are just too far gone? I know Rivals is mostly a meme, but 247 seems to be on par and accurate. The fact that all of our best players have been transfers is telling. Yeah we had a couple of transfer busts, but overall we net postive on them and I don't think anyone would argue they weren't our best players. Osborn, Borregales, King, J Philips, Roche, Bolden, Stevenson, etc.

agreed teams take on the personality of the coach more times than not. Our guys on the sideline shining in jewelry while we down man what type of ish is that. the first 2 years were cool after we got the rings it's just been an embarrassment lol

Kam Kinchens is a high four star kid. Ball hit him directly in the hands for a pick on the first drive, dropped, UVA scores.

Borregales is the #1 kicking recruit in the country. Doinks a chip shot off the upright for a loss.

I'm not saying these kids stink, or they won't be good, or any of that. Just pointing out that you guys thinking this is 100% because of coaching are taking the easy way out. Kids are in position to make plays. They don't make them. That's not coaching, it's....something else. I'm honestly convinced this program is cursed. It's the only thing that makes sense. How does that ball go RIGHT THROUGH Marcus Clarke's hands and not only is it not an INT, but it's a TD to a kid with his facemask in the grass. What in the absolute fvck?

Anyway, this is a mess from top to bottom. We all know that, and we know Manny is a dead man walking. As he should be, he's the head of the snake and when it goes bad, he's the one who has to go. But there are a LOT of plays out there that are not made by kids who are in perfect position to make them. They just don't. I can't explain it. It's not Stephen Field's fault that a ball hits Will Mallory directly between the 8 and 5 in the middle of his chest for a 14-3 lead and he drops it. It's just not. That's not coaching. That kid was recruited by 30 top programs, and on the NFL's radar before the season. Now, all of a sudden, he can't catch Covid in a New York nursing home. It makes absolutely no sense to me how this program can ALWAYS take one step forward, two steps back. Every single time. There was not a single nanosecond that I thought Borregales would make that kick. Not for an instant. Why? Why am I so goddammed calloused that I expect failure at every single turn. My wife yelled at me during the game because she says I laugh when bad things happen. I dead-*** do not even realize I do it. I ******* laugh when we drop passes or miss field goals or drop interceptions, and it's involuntary. That's how broken we all are mentally watching this bull**** year after year. It's honestly comical how often we **** up that it makes me chuckle when it happens, over and over.

So yeah, we need a new coach. Yeah, Mario would be a godsend. But this "13th best roster" **** is for the birds. Bubba Bolden makes up a big chunk of that ranking. Back to back plays in week 1, he has an INT go through his hands (in perfect position) and completely whiffs on a 6 foot freshman QB on a nicely designed safety blitz that got home. Manny's fault? Nope. You're a borderline 5-star player on this supposed 13th ranked roster. Go make a ******* play.
Don't disagree, isn't it amazing there are coaches whose teams always seemed to make the big play when needed, while there are other teams and coaches who even though they have the lead late in a game you know somewhere along the way they are going to ***** it up.

Our ol sucks when asked to push people
Decent pass blocking
As much as they suck our oc does nothing to help them
We should be quick throws but we have long developing throws rarely move the pocket run draws etc
We do nothing to scheme to our advantage
And minimize weaknesses
Even on defense it’s clear our dbs are to dumb for zone so they should just play man no thinking involved
Our talent is not as good as we think but it also extremely misused
What is hard to imagine we could have possibly had 5-6 interceptions against Va. and winded up with one >

Development.

I’m 100 percent convinced Miami doesn’t actually hold Spring or Summer practices. I’m convinced they just go out there and jog around at best, have some Orange slices and call it a day.

That’s how you get the product we see out there now
This is 100% right.

But most here do not know what development actaully means. Most just watch the games...see poor performance...player must suck. You do not just get superstar player---insert superstar---everything works.
