This argument has been beaten to death already.. sorry not to be mean. Most are in agreement that the coaching is the main issue and player development. Not to say Rivals, ESPN, etc are an exact science either with all these "recruiting rankings" crap
I agree with a lot here man. It seems we are cursed. Guys dropping int's and easy passes. year after year too. That's not on the coaches but overall the product stinks more from coaching issues than players. But that's just my opinion and I could be wrong.Kam Kinchens is a high four star kid. Ball hit him directly in the hands for a pick on the first drive, dropped, UVA scores.
Borregales is the #1 kicking recruit in the country. Doinks a chip shot off the upright for a loss.
I'm not saying these kids stink, or they won't be good, or any of that. Just pointing out that you guys thinking this is 100% because of coaching are taking the easy way out. Kids are in position to make plays. They don't make them. That's not coaching, it's....something else. I'm honestly convinced this program is cursed. It's the only thing that makes sense. How does that ball go RIGHT THROUGH Marcus Clarke's hands and not only is it not an INT, but it's a TD to a kid with his facemask in the grass. What in the absolute fvck?
Anyway, this is a mess from top to bottom. We all know that, and we know Manny is a dead man walking. As he should be, he's the head of the snake and when it goes bad, he's the one who has to go. But there are a LOT of plays out there that are not made by kids who are in perfect position to make them. They just don't. I can't explain it. It's not Stephen Field's fault that a ball hits Will Mallory directly between the 8 and 5 in the middle of his chest for a 14-3 lead and he drops it. It's just not. That's not coaching. That kid was recruited by 30 top programs, and on the NFL's radar before the season. Now, all of a sudden, he can't catch Covid in a New York nursing home. It makes absolutely no sense to me how this program can ALWAYS take one step forward, two steps back. Every single time. There was not a single nanosecond that I thought Borregales would make that kick. Not for an instant. Why? Why am I so goddammed calloused that I expect failure at every single turn. My wife yelled at me during the game because she says I laugh when bad things happen. I dead-*** do not even realize I do it. I ******* laugh when we drop passes or miss field goals or drop interceptions, and it's involuntary. That's how broken we all are mentally watching this bull**** year after year. It's honestly comical how often we **** up that it makes me chuckle when it happens, over and over.
So yeah, we need a new coach. Yeah, Mario would be a godsend. But this "13th best roster" **** is for the birds. Bubba Bolden makes up a big chunk of that ranking. Back to back plays in week 1, he has an INT go through his hands (in perfect position) and completely whiffs on a 6 foot freshman QB on a nicely designed safety blitz that got home. Manny's fault? Nope. You're a borderline 5-star player on this supposed 13th ranked roster. Go make a ******* play.
I see talent at certain positions. But big holes in the some as well. OL is a disaster and LB too. Not winning without a solid OL.You guys see talent out there? Sheesh.
I agree with mostly everything you said, but there is something to be said about coaching. I can pretty much guarantee our players go to another school and light it up. I cant think of any good examples, so maybe Cager. He was basically the father of Wiggins and Pope. But he went to Georgia and started doing very well. I believe he was their #1 or #2 WR that year.Kam Kinchens is a high four star kid. Ball hit him directly in the hands for a pick on the first drive, dropped, UVA scores.

It doesn’t matter. We could be 1st nationally everywhere, but if our offensive line does not play better then the offense will not work. Period. The entire wide receiver, running back, quarterback, and tight end groups could be 5 stars. IT WOULD NOT MATTER. We would still be ineffective.Miami current roster ranks 13th NATIONALLY. 2nd in Acc behind Clemson.
All we need is a COACH
