I really don’t care one way or another, I was simply responding to a post Re: Mendoza…

As I said, if I recall correctly; this was stated…
I wasn’t responding to your post so much as I was responding to Mario cause if that was the reason he passed on the best QB in the portal he needs to be taken out back of the building and tar and feathered cause that’s stupidity in its highest form.

My bad…

Yeah that’s why I remembered it…

I thought it was odd as well…

Whether you its true or not, this isn't how you handle the post-game stuff. As a 5th year Senior, I expect more for Beck. I never understood why UGA was ready to move on from Beck until we went through a rough patch. His tantrum after the false start/delay of game penalty was downright childish. I get youre frustrated but cmon man

He’s a game manager coming off an injury and a ****** season. I think we tried getting Mateer but when that wasn’t happening, the pivot was to this guy instead of Mendoza. I do believe we could have gotten Mendoza if he were the target ahead of Beck. This is who they chose. I don’t know if it was what Dawson wanted or not. That’s my question - was Mario making the choice or letting Dawson???
Mario aint picking no qb.

You forgetting him wanting to fight a coach over Alin Edouard during recruitment. lol
dudes evals are turrible

This is why I have a modicum of respect for the HCs of two teams I hate the most
- Notre dame and Ohio St.

Both HCs make sure their teams take care of business against lesser opponents. It is why the Saban teams were machine-like. Bad opponents almost always get flattened. If a schedule was front loaded with good teams and easy on the back part, once they got through the tough part you could write them into the playoffs with a permanent magic marker.

EVERY UM fan looked at our schedule and marked 2 random games later in the season as guaranteed losses. We knew Mario would Mario. The question was just which two opponents it would be.

And to be perfectly honest- I have more respect for Norvell as a HC than Mario. 2 years ago Norvell managed to get his team through the regular season without a loss. It is incredibly difficult to keep a team focused for an entire season. But he managed to do it, including beating UF on the road with his backup QB and winning the ACC championship with his THIRD string QB against #14 Louisville!

That is an astounding example of superb coaching. Was Travis their entire offense? Sure. Yet they still managed to beat teams and win the conference championship without their best player.

And if a coach can get through a regular season undefeated just once, it means he is CAPABLE of doing it again if he gets the right players. He accomplished that feat with a mercenary team built mostly through NIL. And I believe he can do it again in the future because he has demonstrated he can keep a team focused on the big prize through an entire regular season. Very few coaches can do that.

Cristobal in his 10+ year career has not only failed at having an undefeated season, he’s never even had a season where his teams won all the games in which they were favored. Oh - For anyone keeping count at home, Kiffin has managed that feat twice.
notre dame got their *** beat by Northern illinois just last year. lol

Mario's message to his teams wears thin by mid-season.

Nick Saban could get away with his personality because the results were championships and he had players to replace you. Follow his process and you could end up with a NC ring or two.

Players do not believe Mario. His 40-year old NC rings from Miami are irrelevant and his NC ring at Alabama don't mean much when his coaching costs you games you're asked to shed blood, sweat, and tears for.

How often has Freeman lost as a double digit favorite? I don’t really give a **** if it happens every once in a while.

In case you were wondering the answer is 3 times. Twice in 2022. Zero times in 2023. Once in 2024. The question is can a coach consistently win when his team is a heavy favorite? Freeman showed he is capable of it in 2023. Losing when favored by 3 or 4 doesn’t concern me as that usually indicates the teams are relatively evenly
Matched.

Also ND ended up playing in the championship game last season. Losing one game in a season can occasionally be a wake up call. It was for ND. Few people would care if UMs only loss was to Louisville this year and we ended up playing in the National championship game. The issue with Cristobal is he has shown he will ALWAYS trip up and blow his chances at the post season.

Even in 2018- Ducks lose the opener to Auburn. Sucks but they climbed back into the playoff picture. No margin for error. And then of course was the debacle against ASU in November. That’s just how it goes with him.

I don’t hate this. Get some accountability on the staff to be commited to having a schematic advantage as they are to having a talent advantage.

His evals the past two years have ended up better but Mendoza > Beck and he missed that one.

It’s not even Becks fault, it’s the bums we call coaches who are supposed to be in the booth seeing the field sending the counter chess moves to the qb in the headset.
We knew these guys weren’t better chess players than Rhett before the game even started💯

Don’t have a problem with him being ****ed. Every reason to be. Nice to see some passion rather than a bunch of Stepford guys echoing Mario’s mantra.

With our atrocious record in Nov and December, it seems to me the problem is two fold.

One, our in game and in season adjustments pale in comparison to top teams. We put out film in the first month of the year and then a blueprint is developed. Instead of us being proactive and throwing new wrinkles we try harder. So our tendencies are used against us and we lose to teams we have no business losing to. You give a C level student the answer key and they will ace the test. We give everyone the answer key after the first month of the year.

And that leads into the second part - the athletes know they are running a broken system, or at the very least, they know the defense knows what is coming and guess what? The morale goes down. Which goes along way towards keeping lower level teams in the game to the point where they can win it at the end.

All of this to say this is a real issue. Mario wants to be known as a CEO coach, but his fingerprints are all over. Step back, make Mirabel step back as well and pursue dominance > physicality, pursue championships > scheme.

That simple.

Points are well stated & pretty obvious. Trying harder & back to work mantra is equivalent of beating your head against a wall. Mario & Co better tweak the offense quick or he’s gonna lose the players & limp to the finish line.

Nobody gets held accountable for missing the details and ducking up the play. Including guys like Toney. The reason why I brought him up is bc of u r gonna preach culture and accountability then do it and starting taking snaps from players when they mess up, especially on the simple Shii. Nip it in the bud before they **** up big.
