#STAYH

3rd game? Try 200 games of **** on the field .
You newbie fans don’t know any better , but all the old heads have had enough.
Not a "newbie fan", but nice try. Been a fan for 35+ years. Went to the school. Absolute loyalty to this team.

This is a new staff. New scheme. Many new starters. They deserve a chance to prove themselves.

@1hurricane dont get too hyped. Jarrens the goods but seeing the game and jarren in person will frustrate you even more. I was at the first 2 games and it is actually frustrating watching him. You dont see the whole picture on the tv. He doesnt see guys who are wide open and when he has 10 yards of open field running room he chooses not to run. Example was
The 2 point try vs unc. Dude just had to walk into the endzone but he paused and had his mind made up that he was gonna throw it. Thomas was open several times as was harley and jarren just didnt see them or chose not to throw to them. Very frustrating.
That will come with time. He was far better in game 2 than in game 1, and will likely continue to see more of the field as time progresses and his confidence grows with more reps. He has shown very impressive accuracy and timing thus far. So if he continues progressing and developing, he has the potential to be a top-notch QB.

Remember when we use to say we'd play anyone, anywhere, anytime? Now we need division 2 schools to get wins.
No one said we need them to get wins, so nice strawman argument. Said it's always nice to have some easy games for new players to learn a completely new system.

Let me clarify something, I’ve been a season ticket holder since 2003 when I could afford it. I’ve been a Canes fan since I can remember which I’m not going to get into a who’s Johnson is longer here but just know I’ve been a loyal passionate fan for a long long time. The energy that I put into supporting this program through the years has not been reciprocated by the University. They continue to hire first year head coaches because that is the cheap way to do things, even though it hasn’t worked 4 out of the last 5 times we’ve hired a coach, they continue to do so and yet achieve the same results. I will no longer support this trend in terms of giving me money towards something that I no longer enjoy ( which is losing ). This program just lost to a program that is known for basketball, had only 2 wins last year and has a coach that was out of coaching for 3/4 seasons. Our coach is a defensive minded guy but could not come up with a game plan to make a true freshman’s night miserable and a over hyped QB at UF. His team instead after 2 weeks of practice came out flat. If by seeing the same story unfolding again makes me a “ bad fan” then so be it, I like to think of it as fool me once shame on your fool me 15 times shame on me. And I think we’re all on the same boat when it comes to which how many times we’ve been fooled.

Either way I will be rooting for these guys all year, but I will no longer give my hard earned money to a product that has been the same for the past decade and a half with hopes of a past resurgence. If you wish to, then good for you I wish you luck on your journey. As for me, if things don’t turn around this season, I’m done. Nothing but watching games on TV for me moving forward.
I agree with all you stated. Every once in a while you have to look in the rear view mirror. JJ lost 5 games his 1st season and that was after a National title that NO ONE saw coming. But when he left Erickson only had to not **** it up. Butch got it rolling again. Coker should have gotten #6. Shannon and Richt didn't work out but many thought they would. Golden was a disaster but that little punk Shapiro was trying to get the NCAA to give us the death penalty, so that's that.
I have to give this coaching staff a chance because at least there's excitement again before 2 winnable games. I hope to live a long enough life to see Miami back in the top 5.
1 thing I know is when Manny turns this around hes here to stay. This is not a stepping stone for him.
Just need some more depth and let the coaching staff prove themselves.

Yea no one believes you.

It'll be half empty and nobody can blame the fans, it's sad because it will be the first game at home, but 0-2, you already lost to the biggest rival and a in division rival in crushing fashion. Add to that the opponent being a cake walk and fans will stay away more likely than not

Under " 30,000 Orange, Green and White attire wearing fans. " I'm guessing a lot of ticket holders will either not show up or give away their tickets in some sort of way. hUh.

Apparently we do need them to get wins.

Yeah, don't care what you believe, nor do you speak for anyone else.

It's idiotic to lump the first two games of a completely new staff and system with a VERY young team into the "200" previous games. Using your "logic" after a complete overhaul a team has to be running at 100% full efficiency right away and not lose any games, otherwise they are trash. This new regime deserves the same benefit of the doubt that JJ got when he started, that Saban got when he started, that Dabo got when he started.
Is there a guarantee that this staff will work out? Of course not. Have they done anything to prove they will be successful...no. Have they done anything to prove they won't...no.

Chill

You think this season/team/staff is any different then the last 16 years?

Wow

In your mind any new regime that loses on opening day, no matter how young the team, is already a failure.

That's simply illogical.

0-2 PAL for the first time since 1978 let that fcking sink in. Losing to true freshman and a team that was 2-9 last year.

UM has the dumbest fans on earth bar none.

It's gonna be over 30k for sure. I'm thinking 50k plus. I didn't expect as many people to show up to the last home opener after the lsu blowout and the embarrasing L at the orangebowl but it was 59k plus..60k something to be exact.

But I think attendance overall will be down a tad from last year that might have set a record.

I would want nothing more than for this staff to succeed, I like Manny, I think he is a great guy. Having said that I do not see that he has what we NEED to become great again. I could and hope to be wrong but I’m just fatigued from all the losing and disappointment.
