Looking at blue chip ratio is a nice exercise but it is incomplete without accounting for the balance of the classes/talent being brought in. We have a pretty solid ratio yet still have holes at DT, linebacker, and safety.

My bad lol. Yea Muschamp was a great recruiter outside of the OL. Wished he woulda worked out cause he wanted to be here, we all liked em, but he couldn’t stay out of the offense way

And I’m not entirely sold on the Ducks. A lot of talent that’s getting pushed down in the depth chart for immediate fix transfers.

Kids rating literally is downgraded as soon as they commit and sign w UM. Any kid that signs with a SEC or Big school rating musically increases. Does these rankings really matter?

It's still probably a decent indicator of overall recruiting ability. You don't see the best teams abandoning trying to sign a #1 class just because of the portal.
My question is always: given our limitations as a school (smaller donor base than a Texas, et al), is there someone that would be recruiting better than Mario here that we would actually have a chance at hiring? He has his limitations as an in-game coach and evaluator of coordinator talent (although he's at least willing to make changes), but I don't think he's fallen short as a recruiter, I think we just are just limited by a combination of on-field success and funding.

Yeah, Mullen was also fired for ****** recruiting.
Shark ****** just flat-out refused to recruit and would be seen drinking at the bar.
Mullen was a very lazy, more Coker-like style of recruiter. He just looked at stats and stars and nothing more and went about his day.
Billy is better, but still not elite. However, the one thing he has on us is the SEC and kids knowing what conference they will be in for their career.
