Cristobal record after bye week FWIW

It counts when you are specifically analyzing how Mario’s teams perform after bye weeks.

Record books, yes you are correct. But we are talking about the former, not the latter.
We lost to a middling team at best that night. Even before the debacle of an ending, it was not an inspiring performance coming off a bye.

Not Mario’s fault TVD didn’t know what color jerseys we were wearing that night. Maybe he just couldn’t see the recievers wearing black unis at night. Probably blended into the sky.

Mario's dumb decision lost the GT game. We lost the game.

But if you want to talk about preparation, if we just take a knee, I think GT had literally about 140 yards of offense for the entire game to that point. I've beaten this to death for 2 years and it took years off my life so forgive me if I don't remember the specifics right now, but I think when I did some research, *IF* we just take a ******* knee, it would have literally been one of the best defensive performances in the history of the school since we joined the ACC. We were set to end that game giving up less than 150 yards of offense.

Our offense, however, was another story.

Regardless, I couldn't care less how another staff and roster handled a bye week on the other coast. We looked very well prepared 2 weeks ago against FSU. We looked very well prepared Week 1 vs ND. We looked very well prepared last year in the sewer against the gator. We looked good coming out of both byes last year, albeit we gave up 700 points to Louisville (no different than any other week, really). I'm not concerned with the team not being ready to play simply because it's coming after a bye week.

So basically he is 9-1. I refuse to count the GT game as a loss with blatant thievery by the officials. Sure Mario pit us in a dumb spot. But Chaney was down.
Close counts in horseshoes, ***, hand grenades, and Mario Cristobal losses.

Explain to me how close counts in ***........
you never almost had *** with a chick but some unforeseen circumstance turns up and the mission had to be aborted? But since she naked and you naked, and although you didn’t close, you still tell your friends that you hit.

I’m counting it becuase of the sheer stupidity to do it again after the Oregon Stanford game.

you’re exactly right about the context surrounding this discussion and why it’s actually 9-1. typically, i dont think you can say “what if” about penalities or bad calls. but when they literally happen at the end of the game, where no other plays could happen, then i think it’s ok.

the 2002 national championship game is another example of this.

For the 700th time, it wasn't the same situation.

He couldn't have run out the clock at Oregon. He could've gotten close, but it was not victory formation time. Stanford still had 1 timeout left.

The one at Miami was 5000000000000000 times worse. The game was literally over. It was not in 2018. If they take 3 knees, they'd still have had to punt with about 15 seconds left, or so. Obviously way better than fumbling, but it wasn't auto victory formation. The GT game was. Far, far more inexcusable.
