Cristobal is not the leading candidate

Frenk hasn't been there long enough to find the practice field let alone make this decision. Not happening.

Chud is clearly Blake's first choice and will get the job unless something comes out of left field.
 
The "fanbase" was enegergized by Golden

We don't need another con man.

We need an offensive genius football coach with 12 years of experience in the NFL and 3 national title rings.

When you sit back and think of everything else this program has been though over the past 12 years and how this BOT has contributed to our malaise you would think that they would be focused on finally making a great hire. Until Butch, or Tom Herman or anyone capable of energizing this fan base is officially introduced as our head coach, I will continue to assume that this administration will ***** it all up somehow.

Having said that, there is a feeling that the BOT have finally awakened to the fact that we will not put up with anymore BS and have a sense of focus and urgency regarding this hire. I still find it very difficult to be confident that they will get it right. One more thing. If they actually hire Butch, I will have become a huge fan of President Frenk.

The BOT's history of compounded failure would not have led to the current atmosphere of mistrust, if the administration wasn't run by inept *****. There's not one scintilla of honor, integrity, or honesty in Flake, or his minions.

 
They think recruiting is the most important thing because Butch Davis built the greatest team ever by recruiting the right players. If only someone like Butch Davis was available this time around.
 
A head coach doesn't necessarily have to be an elite recruiter. Results on the field speak for themselves. A successful first year gets a lot of recruits looking our way.

Canes need proven coach with competent assistants from OC and DC down to position coaches. Also, new blood for strength coach!!!!!!!!!!
 
Coach doesn't have to have biggest name but has to hire much better coordinators. Coley and Dorito are just bad!

I made a thread about this before but not sure how many saw it. But I was out with Leon Hall 2 weeks ago in buffalo. He was injured and stayed behind. I asked him about Hue and Miami and he laughed. Said if and when he leaves, it'll be for an NFL job. He won't be a Cane.

As I stated then, I have no clue if true or not. But that's what he said. Just passing it along...
 
That quote doesn't really tell us much. Just because he is polarizing doesn't mean he isn't the leading candidate. The fact that his name is being discussed by the BOT at all is disconcerting.
 
He is in the mix with about 12 others at this point. Plan B type hire if that happend. Very unlikely with all the interest. One thing I have heard asked is if Mario is such a good coach why hasn't he been in the mix on other jobs? Wouldn't UCF be all over him if he was such a prospect

disagree. i dont think schiano would have us competing every year for an NC but he would be consistent. 9-10 games a year.

How does that make any sense for UM? We won 9 games with Golden and Randy, and nobody gave a ****. This city doesn't put up with just being 9-10 win type of team. Also, Coker was getting us 9-10, every year, except for the one where he was fired.

I mean seriously a 27-47 record in Miami at a school where most of the players were from Miami.

What else do you need to know?

If you cant take lower rated Miami players and have a winning record against other crappy teams then why do you think he will do any different at the U.

Butch would take lower rated Miami players and win the coastal.

I would take Mario as a coordinator ad nothing else.

Over Richt's tenure he has pulled in likely the best recruits over every other school in the country.

Does he win? Nothing big enough for Miami fans. I have been in Georgia long enough to know he does less with more than any other school in the country.

Also he is so ingrained into the country/christian life up here he aint going to Miami. No way his wife lets him drag her to Miami.

I am still holding out for Chip Kelly.

He gets canned in Phily then he is either going to be a Trojan, Cane or Longhorn because those are going to be the only schools with the intangibles to build a dynasty and he doesn't want to work as hard as he did before to be always left in Saban's shadows.

If Texas fire's Strong this quickly it will hurt them with their chances.
USC might just be to close to Oregon and the PAC10 will never compete with the SEC.
That leaves the Miami job looking pretty if they will open up the pocketbooks.

Outside of that bring in Butch. He is old but name the last coach that coached more then 6 seasons at Miami . Butch has 6 seasons left in him for sure.
