You just don't give up do you?
Your statement was demonstrably false
You just don't give up do you?
say what you will, but this year Mario is crushing it on the recruiting trail. his OL class is outstanding.
love him or hate him, he'd be an excellent coach if he was at UM.
ExplainYour statement was demonstrably false
The guy that replaced Mario at Fiu got fired lol.Neither Manny nor Mario has any business being Miami head coach. Both were fired from lesser positions: Mario as FIU head coach and Manny as Texas DC.
With that being said, I don’t think Mario deserved to be fired from FIU, while Manny definitely deserved to be fired from UT. In addition, Mario correctly has his team in playoff contention. Therefore, Mario would be the less bad hire.
Don't take this personal. The situation is what it is.This is Mario's second job, and 7th year as a coach overall. It's a reason Mario is the coach at one of the top programs in the country and Butch is Kiffin's new whipping toy!
Ask yourself the question: if Mario was not a UM alum, would anyone be pining for him to be our next coach? There's your answer.

Butch gave Mario his start as a GA...is this really a conversation??....JesusDon't take this personal. The situation is what it is.
Mario's first coaching stint at FIU was undistinguished except for a bowl win against Toledo in the Little Caesar Pizza Bowl. Then they lost to Marshall in the Beef O'Brady bowl. Congrats. His final two seasons he went 8-14 afterwards and was canned. Not exactly exciting reading on his resume. Then he took over Oregon after several other candidates turned them down. He was fortunate to inherit a Heisman type QB after Taggert left.
Butch's resume speaks for itself. He is where he is because at his age he's considered long in the tooth and anyone rebuilding from scratch (as UM was doing in the mid 90s) is looking for someone younger who has staying power. He wasn't hired after UNC because he was radioactive after what the UNC president did to him to get off easy with the NCAA (no lack of institutional control).
Don't even try to compare Mario's career to Davis'. I'm not saying he won't get there but he has a lot to prove before you can put him in the same league.

Willie Taggart was at freaking Oregon
Why you still worried about Mario's tenure at FIU? And there were no other candidates that turned down the Oregon job after Taggart left Oregon, the Oregon PLAYERS wanted Mario, just like the FIU players asked Mario to be retained after he was fired. And Justin Herbert was a high rated 2 star coming outta high school, and didn't play until his sophomore season when Taggart gave him the nod because the kid in front of him got hurt. And why do keep talking like Mario's been coaching for ages, when it's just his 7th year overall and his 2nd at a REAL program? And it doesn't matter what Butch did in the past, he's at FIU now, where he'll most likely remain till he calls it quits. NO ONE will EVER win ANYTHING at Fiu without a bigger budget and bags. LolDon't take this personal. The situation it it is.

And Oregon seems to be doing just fine without him...Willie Taggart was at freaking Oregon
In other words, you got nuthin, as usual...Read your own statement and then do the research. Get back to me.
If it wasn't for Willie's big buyout he WOULD be driving buses, next to Folden! Loland skated on them witht he quickness for FSU. Alot of you fans hold Oregon to higher of a program than they are....Willie drove that bus tf outta there..lol.
Manny is similar to the s.fla divas he recruits....and his "recruiting prowess" would do nothing here...his strength is recruiting kids away from S.Fla. When your in that pressure cooker its alot different..ala James Coley.
Now maybe Mario can return the favor?Butch gave Mario his start as a GA...is this really a conversation??....Jesus
Nah, they like Iowa state's coach who ain't gotta do **** but win 6 or 7 games a season, which is why he refuses to leave because it makes him looks like an overachiever, along with that OVERRATED CHEEK KISSING PERVERT Tom Herman lol! . I personally don't want Mario at UM, because the moment the opposing team gets a FIRST DOWN the Cuban Haters will be ready to fly the banners! LolSo I guess it’s better for you dopes to keep suckking the dik of a Seminole every Saturday?
