Jim Johnson was the king of the fire blitz and the CB blitz. Difference was, their DBs didn't play 10 yds off the receiver and they had gap integrity and knew how to disguise a blitz.

My other option is to throw the whole scheme away and simplify it and talk to @Coach Macho

Or simply realize we are not good in a zone and play man coverage behind his blitzes.

there may have been more but it seemed that if an outside guy crashed inside, there was no one to take his place and set an edge. It seemed on some plays all our guys would get sucked into the middle of the oline where a competent qb would escape the pressure and slide to the other side uncontested.
That may be a communication issue because guys are doing whatever, sometimes rushing into the same gaps.

Then there is the zone blitzing and our de's dropping back with noone to cover. Happenned on at least two occasions with different guys so that is being schemed. Are our guys just not able to think this through, that if there is not a guy on a route on the side they drop back in they don't have to take themselves out of a play?

If manny actually cared about his job security he’d get rid of his DC duties and hire a guy who runs a real 4-2-5 that has a real track record. Sure add in some stuff in meeting but let the guy run the defense. I swear it’s one step forward two steps back always with us
