fsu would be good under stoops, but I think Manny could handle him. Meyer would be a problem though.

Just a gut feeling that it'd be another case of a coach who the game has passed them by. Maybe I'm wrong. I always liked Stoops, as much as you can like a coach from OU. Mack Brown is doing a solid job up in Carolina, so it can be done. But I suspect Bob would be more like Mark. Just a guess.
 
I would see that as a Mark Richt type hire for them, an above average coach that is past his prime and question whether he has the energy to deal with it over the long haul

Wouldn't shock me. Been away from CFB long enough to miss it (if true), would be a place he can win at the highest level, make nice bank, current XFL is a joke etc. Meh.

I'm hoping it is Jeff Bowden.

It may or may not happen, but like I was arguing with the guy the other day that swore that F$U was dead, wouldn't and couldn't pay for a big name coach now, etc.....they are now in somewhat unfamiliar territory that we have sadly endured for quite some time with our unwillingness to pay top coaching money.

They will throw the money at some names I believe, whether they take the job or not.

Apparently Stoops met with Auburn brass for lunch last year and he wanted something obscene like $15 million a year to coach. Not ever sure if that number was correct, but allegedly AU went back to plane pretty quickly.

Stoops has Clemson to worry about with F$U in the Atlantic...if he wanted to coach again, it wouldn't be the worst situation for him if he could recruit strong, which I'm sure he would.

I have a partner who is a significant booster and he said the same thing only at a higher price. Actually, the buy-out money has been in place for some time and talks have already taken place. He believes that Briles will be named assitant HC much like Jimbo. Apparently, the delay is to go through the Florida public hiring process-that and Stoops is not sure he wants to grind again. I am also told that this "works" because FSU can pay going forward, but is out of "buy-out" money to get someone with a job at a big program. We will see in about 10 days.......

This team went 7-6 under Jimbo (his final year), and 9-12 under Taggart. That is a combined 16-18 under 2 different coaches. You clear house of all coaches, assistants, etc... and gut the roster of anything remotely resembling cancer or bad attitudes is what any sane coach does. The boosters sound to be enamored with FSU's current roster and recruiting rankings - that's not a great hill to die on.

They were the only ol other than Bethune that was easily worst than ours. Add to it they are signing a bunch in this class and none of em appear to be anything but projects.

They actually believe they have more talent than they do....Im loving it

Don't think they need to rebuild, they have talent, they just had a corch... if they get a QB, maybe a transfer portal guy that can play immediately and an o-lineman or 2 they'll be functioning again... we need them to be good... it's best when Miami and FSU are both great...
