Could we have King for TWO years?

The more likely outcome is that King, Harris, Harley, Wiggins, Jordan, Scaife, Gaynor, Williams all decide to enter the draft.

It comes down to playing for free,, taking classes and enduring the grind of collegiate athletics, or take their chances playing professionally.

I don’t know the eligible QB’s for 22 draft but I highly doubt they will be better than Trevor and Fields.. I think coming back next year with our roster would be best decision but we’ll see..

He has very little chance of being a top 3-4 QB in this class. But the following class is significantly weaker. Added XP and a weak class could vault him into a top 3 QB and potentially 1st rnd. The #6 QB went in the 4th round last draft and # 5 was the lone 2nd rounder. All others 1st round. There is actual incentive to stay.

if history has taught us anything [is that you can kill anyone. "The Godfather II"] is that 99/100 times players leave and don't stay even if staying is in their interest.

Honestly, once he wins the Heisman and the Unitas awards I think he will decide to bolt.

One year and done.

I’d love an extra year with King but if he balls out this year, he’s gone. He could very easily be the second QB off the board if he plays his cards right. The only way he comes back is if he gets hurt or the season gets canceled

No matter how he plays his cards, he basically has no shot of being the second QB off the board if Lawrence and Fields declare.

This is my question, if you have a 4th year senior, who has technically taken all his classes, or if you graduate what else would he take? Like maybe one BS class and say you are going for a minor? Or what if in some cases a 6th year kid going to do? This some van wilder ish.

King comes back next year - he could hone in on becoming a top neurosurgeon.

Gators MD's all become proctologists.

Either

1. Familiarity - Gainesville is full of ice holes. Or,

2. Maybe Gaytors just like the action back there!

He has a legit chance of being a first rounder if he comes back. No chance this year, unless he wins the Heisman and throws for 4k

Only if the football gods have commuted our purgatory sentence.

Who was the sacrificial lamb? Ens? Thanks Dan.

No shot he's in the first 3 QBs to go.

You guys realize Joe Burrow got picked first this year? Ahead of Tua Tagovailoa, who everyone and their mom had going number one. Burrow literally went from undrafted FA status to #1 overall pick with one great season. It's hardly a stretch to believe that a guy who has already had more success than Burrow did in his first 4 seasons to make a jump to the top of the list. Even if he doesn't surpass Lawrence or Fields, who else is head and shoulders better than him right now?

Would not take ALL of these guys in college over him but as NFL prospects I think teams will rank Lance from North Dakota St., Lawrence, Fields, Brock Purdy from Iowa St higher. The game is changing and we've seen small QBs get drafted high but Kyler Murray and Baker had a stronger arm than King. His arm is more than adequate for the college game though.
I think he'll break the TD record here but I'm not sure he'll be a draft pick in the first 3 rounds.

I would argue that he brings more value than Fields at the next level. Kick returner, WR skills, and a better 10 game stat Season than Fields as a QB. If he kills it in 2020 at Miami, I’m not sure Fields gets a better grade.

Tagovailoa only “fell” to 5th overall because of the hip injury. Otherwise he’s going first or second even with Burrow having the greatest statistical year ever.

King may be asked to change positions at the pro level. Yes, Kyler Murray exists. He is an exception, greater than two standard deviations from the mean. If Jalen Hurts was a 2nd rounder I think King’s realistic projection without Hurts’ measurables is 3rd round or lower.

Doubt he comes back, but if he did I'd really like our chances vs Bama.
If we were pulling whatever Clemson has been with their upperclassmen "retention efforts" we'd probably have both King AND Rousseau for that game. Imagine DAT! Canes by 100! Sabag retires at halftime!

Fair take

I guess anything is possible, but I just don't see it.

Will this mean a change of mind with Greg Rousseau coming back for one more year....I’m asking a question?hummmmm
