Could the closed Spring practices mean

Alot of change (schemes) coming and they don't want to tip their hand too early to the ACC?

Golden has usually been good with the media being around. Maybe this is just him starting to lash back?

Why open yourself up to unnecessary scrutiny. He has nothing to gain by allowing media at his practice. They guy is a lame duck, this is his last chance to audition for another gig.

Stop the bleeding (negative press) until fall camp. At that point, some of the noise should calm down, and then he can do whatever he wants as the season goes, because he knows this is his last year.

He has nothing to gain by opening up practices. The Fan base, media, everyone that doesn't have a last name that is Golden and/or D'Nofrio, hate him.

He's changing everything. We're going to have a whole new team once spring practice ends.

Either that, or he's hiding, which is what he's been doing since the season ended.

Open practices mean some will be open to the fans as well. He isn't trying to get heckled for 2 hrs straight on Greentree.

Go figure, people criticized his Frog stance/patty-cake/dodgeball style! He don't want anyone to see the secret weapon.... Simon says stand your ground! Or the much anticipated ring around the Rosie!
But I hear they are really emphasizing red rover!

Rather than the obvious, most simple reason (he is hiding like he has for months), OP really wants to believe this means we are going to see change. Jesus.

Corch might close practices to the public but he can't keep the banners from flying over Greentree. :nba-anthony_davis-u

Closed practices mean we can't see the same crap we've seen for 4 years. If we all saw the same crap, the noise would just get louder. If anything, opening them up and showing off some changes would calm many fans down. Having them closed means it's more of the same.

Exactly.

To sum it up simply, he's tired of being made fun of.

Us getting wind of more dodgeball games and his backpedaling WEfense would make it harder to IGNORE THE NOISE.

OP giving Chumley far too much credit for being able to formulate a strategy like that. This dude closed Spring Practice because he's butthurt, hears the outside noise he claims not to, and wants to tamp down the criticism. It's that simple.

Did I miss the announcement that practices will be closed?

Edit: Never mind, just saw it in the Herald.

Laughably pathetic.

Al will be holding his end of year press conference at a closed practice. DBJ will ask him questions provided by golden himself

He could be planning a Jim Jones, or a small polite thermonuclear device.

Idk you'll have noticed but I heard the new slogan is not longer "THE U " it's "THE TEAM"

I'd personally welcome a bit of a chippier Al and "us against the world" ethos in Coral Gables. Maybe it rubs off on the players.
