could be a 3-4 sack game

I fell you. People here are way underselling Lagaway. He's not some scared fragile statue lol. He's 250lbs and mobile with a cannon. Let's hope he doesn't put it all together again.

That bolded word is under investigation. Dude basically played a little over half a season last year and had off-season shoulder surgery then missed parts of fall camp with his foot in a boot.

we just played a legit running QB and bottled him up.. not sure why all of a sudden you're worried about Lagway running on us... and you did say "Problem is he can run so they have to keep contain most of the game."

What’s this “again”? He’s never put it together. He’s never been good. He was at best okay last year.

ShadowSpring confirmed gator. They can’t help but expose themselves. Most likely young kid who became enamored with Lagway and wanted to come here and troll and his adolescent brain can’t help but defend his idol.

they are almost averaging 3 sacks/game.... with our dudes... I'm going with 5 sack game / 3 INT / 1 Fumble

respectfully, i'm actually disagreeing with you ... dj lagway is not a running threat ... his career high rushing in a game is 46 yards vs kentucky last season ... he's nowhere the threat of byrum brown ... also he's injury prone ... lagway is up against it ... unless he's shown a level of mental toughness we've yet to see this year

OK. CJ Carr hurt us running and scrambling. But ok, the 250lb dude that can actually run isn't a threat. Notice how I never said in this thread he would run all over us. We do have to keep containment and that does slow down the pass rush to an extent. The thread title was 3 to 4 sacks. That's not easy when you have a guy who can run, can scramble, and the DE's have to be mindful of containing him. We aren't pinning our ears back every single passing play. We only had 2 sacks against USF partly due to scheme and trying to keep contain.

We had 2 sacks against USF trying to keep contain against a running QB. Brown a better runner but Lagway still can move. I am not worried about him running on us, we have to keep him contained as we did vs USF.

you are correct on cj carr, his running caught us off guard ... i can't fathom uf running lagway like that due to his injury history ... personally i think there's more context here ... this kid just threw 5 ints in one game, it's gonna have to be **** near highschool open for him to pull the trigger saturday ... in terms of scrambling the stats just don't bear that out, neither does the eye test for that matter

I think UF would be wise to roll Lagway out when they throw the ball. @ShadowSpring is correct, we have had some busts in the secondary with guys running towards the QB before he's crossed LOS. Lagway also threw 4 of his 5 picks against LSU from the pocket on straight drop backs, which is wild.

So, we have a weakness on tape and Lagway was the Hindenburg in the pocket last week. Stands to reason they would roll him out more against us (and probably strongly suggest that he should just run for what he can get and not make passing decisions - not his forte!).

But since Napier is the corch of all corches, UF will probably just drop him back 50 times.

Throw out the Samford and LIU stats and he has 11 TD's and 15 INT's.
He's had very pedestrian stats.

I think what you meant to say is you hope he doesn't put it all together for the first time, in a college game, against us.

Sunbelt Billy might show up with the Tim Tebow playbook. He's desperate now.

Saying "put it all together again" implies he once had it together. Let us examine his stats if you will Mrs. Lagway............

Career
186-292 63.7% 2544 yards 17 TD 15 INT

Now lets take away the creampuff games......
104-177 59% 1391 yards 9 TD 12 INT

Come on dude. His stats aren't even good keeping the Sam Houston States, LIU's, USF, and Tulane's in there, they are horrendous against P4. Just stop.
