Latimer and Carter went to the same HS (Westwood) and became AAs on the DL at Miami - one year apart, I think.

We've had really good players on the inside of the DL for a long time.

I named myself on this board after Tez. Nuff said.

Like Sapp at UM and in the NFL, Tez was that very rare DT who could crush the run AND rush the passer from the inside. Demanded a double team and disrupted the play from the get go. RIP.

Tez only started one year. Backup his first year (88). They told him he had to lose weight

I think Rubin Carter went to Stranahan.
 
Yeah, actually I messed the players and the school up.

Eddie Edwards and Latimer went to Central - not Westwood.

We had the kid about 10 years ago at DT that went to Westwood during the Tin years.

Carter was an AA, too though.

We had a number of AAs on the DL back in the 70s.

@caneinorlando I thought you’d like this photo of Sapp at the Torretta Foundation 25th anniversary celebration Of the 1991 NC. The Camo hat circa 1986 and those pants were beautiful. Unfortunately it was the night of the FSU 2016 debacle. Ruined a great night.

A guy was interviewing Sapp and their OL was in the corner hitting their fist against their hand, implying that was what they were going to do. He asked Sapp about it and he said, "all I have to say about that is, come get some!"
Man, he was a one man wrecking crew. They couldn't move the ball for nothing, except when he would have to come out, on the sidelines panting, he was so worn out. After he would catch his breath, he went right back in, and they would stall out again.
