He’s still my #1 want this cycle. Getting all these other guys is amazing and all but we haven’t had this type of CB prospect in a long long time if ever…

When was the last time we had a Top5 overall consensus recruit? How many have we had?

Any kid who has seen the pictures of the spread the turds put out for recruits and still goes there without a packed lunch deserves any kind of digestive problem he gets…

No worries. If/when he commits to us, he’ll drop like a rock in the rankings.

According to Alex Donno this morning (he has a good youtube channel), McClain has narrowed it down to UM and Bama. Likes Bama because he thinks Saban can make him a top 10 pick. Likes UM because he has family that wants him to go to UM. UF is out (for now).

As long as UF is eliminated any update on his recruitment is glorious.

For what it's worth, he sounds like he's taking time and making a sound decision. Certainly can't blame his view on BAMA and draft potential. We need to start sending kids in the top rounds.

Really hope we can pull this one off.

FWIW- Corey Bender, Gator ON3 writer:

Back in the spring, the Polk County native said he was hoping to wrap up his recruitment sometime in July. Florida and Alabama were the top-two schools at the time, but now Miami, Georgia and Michigan are in that group as well.

The Gators, however, are expecting him on campus during that final weekend of the month. It would be surprising if he is not in attendance for the festivities. That is also the only July visit under consideration.

I am still favoring the Gators here but admit that confidence has waned over the last month or so. McClain was wearing Crimson Tide attire at practice today, and Alabama is Alabama. They have also been neck-and-neck with Florida for much of this year.

The Hurricanes are generating a good amount of momentum right now as well. They are definitely a strong contender after turning heads during the five-star prospect’s official visit.

No program is hotter on the recruiting trail right now than Miami, and as you can expect, plenty of their commits are in McClain’s ear as well. The Hurricanes could be the darkhorse here.

These are just basic fan-type observations from following recruiting imo

Sounds like he is starting to prep Gator fans for a let down, whether it's Miami or someone else.

It sounds like he might give Florida 1 more look before he focuses on Miami/Alabama.
