We are allegedly paying Rumph $250K. Add the safety coach's salary and we are clearly in that range, if not higher.

You have to conclude he didn't want to come here.

Apparently wasn't interested in coming if that's the case. He will be looking for work next year when Miles gets fired

he is an LSU player and been there as a coach, i couldnt picture him leaving. plus, it was obviously not accurate because richt hired both a s and cb coach which shows he was looking to go a certain way.

Why are we assuming we reached out to him?

His camp came out and said they have had no contact from Miami.

I think its more likely that this was not the case. We would have given him more than 375.

Peter's sources have been wrong before.

He has been the most consistent lately but he missed on the report about Kehoe being offered a job here.

I think it more likely that we decided to go with two guys rather then he choose 375 over us.

Also Les is already on the hot seat and they have a tough schedule next year. They will likely lose 3 games next year as well and not make the SEC ship.

I also tend to think this Rumph hire has been part of the plan. It just makes sense to bring him on. He is a former player an up and coming coach at one of the top high schools in SFL that has been driving kids away from the U. He fits here in many ways.
