Corey Hetherman Why is this this dork playing our DBs 10 yards back ?

Besides going a little passive in the 3rd and early 4th, I liked what I saw from the defense, alot

The run game on offense (too much up the middle and not creative) and Mario in game management is what needs work

I didn't hate it on the drive we were up 10 on. He tightened the screws once ND got on the edge of FG range, and we nearly forced them to attempt a FG outside their comfort zone. We forced them to use up over 4 min of clock too.

I actually thought the next drive was when the DC made a mistake, getting too aggressive leaving Toure on an island against their talented TE.

Regardless of what we did on offense, we had very little chance of losing that game up 10 with 9min to go, unless we gave up big chunk plays. We ended up in danger of losing the game, because we gave up a 65 yard reception, not because our DC let them get 40 yards on 4 catches between their own 25 and our 35 yard line.

Because they were there for the taking and instead we left it down to a sub .500 career kicker from nigh on 50 yards out.

It's foreshadowing for how the season is going to go, unfortunately.

The D is hugely improved from last year and the O has enough about it, but not if we play not to lose when we have a lead.
This is the best team on our schedule and we beat them. We kept the "best" rb in the country under control for the most part. Its a success.

We should have won by more… I agree there.

The refs significantly helped ND out though… which is par for the course unfortunately

Let’s see how we look against USF and UF

That definitely became “their play” to exploit late.

But the defense looked way more sound and improved overall. Something to monitor though.
thats been their play the last two years or so maybe even longer before they got dukes qb.

I actually thought we should of drew up a qb draw on one of those 3rd downs in the 3rd quarter..because i believe Beck could of easily ran for 5-10+

100% correct. from the moment we went up 2 scores in the 4th the defense's job was to keep everything in front of them. it got messy because they didn't do that
