Corey Heatherman revisited..

His press conference today was about as close to the Dorito 500 as a corch can get.

Blaming the kids and the execution.

He’s got no answers folks.
There were multiple 3rd downs where the kids blew it. Filling wrong gaps, eyes in the backfield, Lightfoot not keeping the edge, DB’s never rerouting guys and running to spots or bailing instead of passing guys off, etc. This tape is disgusting.

One of the most egregious was when the TE ran free for that TD. I believe they inserted him in the C gap and (maybe Dunnigan?) never even looked at him. Just watched him run right by to the end zone.

It’s really hard to imagine they’re being taught this stuff.

I’m getting ready for it.

His press conference this year as compared to last year when the defense was bad is 180-degrees.
He did ****** a job at scheming it up but he's actually partially right.. i saw many plays where we had them dead to rights and a missed tackle later their at 2nd n 2 instead of 2nd n 8, last years group was WAAYYYYYYYYY better at tackling and swarming to the ball it was striking at times watching it, had dudes like Carnell tate alligator arming catches because he knew Jakobe was somewhere lurking...Other then Toure in the running game we ain't got nobody like that this year...Thornton has been a MASSIVE bust, was known as a "hitter" but he whiffs on more tackles i care to count smh.

it was poyser...he didnt even move a step....it was downright embarassing..they all watched rpo both lbs and safety behind...

anyone gonna ask him about his alignment on 3rd n longer n why we give up rb screens or runs on 3rd and over immediate so easily.

the crazy thing is.....we may have lost this gam,e if GOOD OLE MOTEN DIDNT MAKE A HECK OF A PLAY BECAUSE PETRINO CALLED A RUN THAT PROBABLY WOULD OF BROKE BUT MOTEN TACKLED IT SHORT N THEY HAD TO BLOW A TE.

HE CALLED THAT RUN BECAUSE YOU CAN KIND OF DICTATE OUR ALIIGNMENT VERY EASILY...THATS HOW INDIANA ALSO CALLED THE **** QB DRAW FOR A TD IN THE CHIP AS WELL...WE PART LIKE THE RED SEA TRYNA SPOT DROP ALOT

Maybe his eyes are getting crusty due to never blinking and he’s not seeing things out there.

I know the kids are a good chunk of the problem.

But as a leader you can’t throw everyone under the bus like that. You have to be accountable for the product on the field.

If you can’t get anyone else ready to play who’ll play it the way you want then YOU have to adjust to what the kids can do.

If we had any of mannys defenses (2016-2018) we’d be heavy favorites to win the natty. Those defenses had less nfl talent as well
I'm sorry but this is so insane to me.

Did you watch the end of 2017? Diaz defenses were bullies against young or bad OLs, and got absolutely skull****ed by good and experienced ones. Go watch Wisky and Clemson again. It was a deeply unsound defense that sold out for flashy plays and had zero fundamentals. Our defense last year was ten times the defense Manny has ever fielded.

Heatherman has a lot to work toward, and if the defense continues like this we won't win number 6. But the revisionist history on what I consider the most overhyped defense in Miami history needs to be put in check.

Just watched highlights of last year & 2017 ND game & wow… we had some dawgs & they swarmed to the ball… idk how to change that mentality within a week but I pray it gets done

I’ve been saying since week 1 that the defense doesn’t pass the eye test, but they keep people from scoring so it is what it is.

But agree to this. After watching Saturday I don’t think this group can do what he’s asking them to do. Time to change what you ask them to do.

We would also be heavy natty favorites with last years defense so idk what you mean. Trust me you don’t want to compare the worst performances this defense has had to that. But let’s look at the two games you cherry picked against top 6 teamd and compare them to our two games against .500 or worse teams. Miamis offense turned the ball over 3 times against wisco and went 2-10 on 3rd down. #6 Wiscos offense finished with 34 points on 5 yards per play in 39 minutes and Miami recovered a Jonathan Taylor fumble. Is that awesome? Of course not. do we win that game with an offense that can hold onto the ball and not give them short fields? Of course this offense wins that game and prob comfortably. Okay now the Clemson game. Clemson had 331 yards total (4.4 yards per play) and turned it over giving us a short field. They scored 38 because Miamis offense turned it over 3 times giving clemson 3 drives starting in Miami territory. That’s not even a bad defensive performance against the 12-1 tigers. Our offense with that defense that night wins that game. For reference, 3-5 fsu had 443 yard ( 6.9 yards per play) and we gave them 0 short fields (did throw a pick in end zone). And 4-4 unc had two drives the entire game they didn’t get into the end zone (407 yard and 6.35 yards per play) despite receiving 0 short fields and we still won. Our offense is amazing and we’re still third favorites. The 2017 Miami hurricanes had a putrid offense and were 11-0 to start the year because they had a good defense. I agree last years defense was probably better (certainly end of year) but that doesn’t mean any of the 2016-2018 manny defenses paired with this offense wouldn’t be heavy natty favorites. And boy I hope and pray our defense Saturday plays against #4 notre dame the way that 2017 defense played against #3 notre dame I hope we can agree on that lol

We are third in odds this season with a defense that just gave up 5 touchdowns in 7 drives to UNC after an only slightly better performance against 3-5 FSU. Those defenses were infinitely better go look up those box scores if you misremember bc you don’t like the guy for some reason. I pray we turn this around because this offense is incredible and deserves a defense at least as good as mannys current one at ******* duke

No shot this offense could win a natty with a defense with the following stats! You guys clearly have little faith in our O if that’s true. We allowed 53% completion % and let up 135 passing yards per game lmao

I don’t like what Corey asks our linebackers to do… they are 240+ lbs usually lined up tight hovering all over the LOS. But also expected to cover screens or drop back in space to cover the middle of the field like a safety. When they’re already out of position before the snap to do anything effectively besides stopping the run.
