I just think u can’t have 1 & 9 on the field together for passing downs. Now I do believe the D hasn’t helped heatherman bc of missed tackles but I think he needs to try to help himself with some of the play calling as well.
But if ND goes heavy run game that can save Heatherman with 1&9 out there lol

Any down is a passing down if the other team can just predict our personnel. There is a reason UNC threw more on first down against us than they had basically the entire year.

I mean, those WR screens he talked about he was 100% right though. Our DBs did a sh*t job on providing any resistance to those plays. You don't need to scheme on shedding off blocks. There was a lot of loafing around and a lack of swarming to the ball last Saturday.

Heatherman's scheme is what it is. Defense coming out of spring last year raved about the new defense that let them play and not second guess themselves. That's a defense that is going to have a lack of variance and scheme changing, which is what Belechick pointed out himself. But if we played like we've done in spurts, like the first half of the Wake game and the majority of the Stanford and Pitt games, last weekend's game is more like a 10-12 point win, than what we got.

That's always the most frustrating response. It's one thing to hear it in week 3-4. In week 9 it's a you problem.
