Miami offensive line commit Corey Gaynor recapped his official visit to Coral Gables via text with CanesInSight on Sunday night.


Favorite part of his visit: "My favorite part was definitely the lockeroom. I've always dreamt of wearing the uniform and I got to do it."

Favorite meal of the visit: "My favorite meal was a surf and turf at Rusty Pelican. I tore that lobster up 😂"

Who joined him on the visit and what was their impression: "My dad and step mom were blown away. They said it was incredible and they couldn't be happier for me."

Miami's chances with Kai-Leon Herbert: "Kai and I are boys so we have a good connection regardless, but I think this weekend opened his eyes. We'll have to wait and see."

His emotions with NSD around the corner: "It's a class full of dawgs on the field and great guys off it. I'm excited! I can't wait to start the next chapter of my life. I'm ready to do this thing!"

His play mentality is great. Strength for a high schooler great. 365 bench , 500 squat and 315 power clean. More than many of our 2 and 3 year OL guys. In the future when he is able to start at center they will be unable to put 300-320 lb. DTs and NTs and stuff the center requiring us to commit a guard to help. Looks like at 6-4 (Nike) he can handle 310 and be tremendously strong. He has a 2018 teammate at Douglas Jack Fris a LT at 6-5/290 that also has a physical mentality.

Saw his tape, quickly became one of my favorite recruits. He's going to be our C of the future and if he stays healthy, look for him to have a long NFL career. He plays the position like it's supposed to be played; angry, chippy, and always finishes.

I'm pleasantly surprised with how Gaynor's body looks.

I'm going to give the staff credit. It looks like they found a diamond in the rough. Hopefully he pans out.

His game film shows a "Rough" diamond!
 
Center is an underrated position. Our best o-lines have always had a really good anchor in the middle. I think this kid starts from day one. Seems like a smart enough kid, and he already has the functional strength to play right away.

I don't see him starting from day 1, but if he somehow did that would help our online.

I like the kid's attitude and his toughness. We turning the corner big time with this class. If we can add Herbert we'll be set on the OL for this class.

Think we got a steal here, future anchor of the interior line. This kid is going to be a player for us, this is a kid who can really use the word savage.

Yup. I'm not sure why everyone is sleeping on that possibility. They all hate Linder now, but the kid played from day one, and started several games at guard as a freshman. This kid is more advanced strength wise. And center isn't locked down.
