If you knew nothing other than the comments in this thread, you'd think we've come a long way defensively since he left.
Talent-wise, yes.

Results wise as well. Diaz gave up a school record 778 yards to UNC in 2020 including 554 rushing yards.Talent-wise, yes.
Worst as it gets but people still defend him on here.
If we get a natty out of it who cares I just wanna see another one b4 I croak, If Mario ain’t the guy we’ll know soon enough this season will tell me a lot.Thatshould NOT be the bar at the University of Miami.
7 years, really? Try againWith a team manny constructed over 7 years.
Brother our oline averaged out was 6’2” and 290 pounds with Lucious Stanley touting the rock.
What is the bar for the university of Miami? You need elite rosters/talent to compete with the top dogs! You’re not gonna out coach Ohio state/UGA with rosters littered with 3Thatshould NOT be the bar at the University of Miami.

️ players at key positions. The most elite X’O guy isn’t gonna stop Jeremiah Smith with a bunch of DJ Ivey level DBs
I could careless about Manny, I wanted Mario here bcuz of his ability to acquire talent n ill admit while its been better then previous coaches its still short of truly Elite, Jaden Harris should NEVER be the starting safety at THE U. We'll see what transpires this szn but I agree that we enough to at least handle the ACC.Let’s start with out coaching GT, Rutgers, Syracuse, Iowa State, MTSU…
The bar is not “better than Manny”, he’s touted as an elite recruiter yet left the defense bare last year wasting a generational offense.
Big year this year. ACC Title/Playoffs or bust.
I mean if you really want to break that game down again, Miami held FIU under 300 total yards. The defense didn’t throw 3 picks or go 1-10 on third down but that’s not even the point.**** TrumpyCane didn’t realize Manny never recruited those defensive players who couldn’t stop FIU
Got it
you want a good example of what manny Diaz would like with resources go look at mike norvell.Lmao nah bro we were supposed to dominate the ACC w Key Smiff, Tyler van Pick6 , & Corey Flagg takin fools heads off
My bad 5, still felt too long.7 years, really? Try again

This, I was about to post this as well, lol
I’m not a Diaz fan by any means, but his **** show with him and Baker was still better than what we saw with Guidry last year.A defense so bad we missed the playoffs with Cam Ward is the bigger crime. Last year’s defense was as bad as anything under Manny.
SimulationCrazy to think that this wasn’t the first time Manny Diaz was on the side of the Hurricanes that ended up losing to the Panthers
Left the defense barely, huh... Interesting. Maybe CB was left bare because he built a generational offense. Surely in an era where money is limited building an elite unit couldn't lead to opportunity costs.Let’s start with out coaching GT, Rutgers, Syracuse, Iowa State, MTSU…
