Cool note on Lingard from Army Game

I hope we implement some more power concepts for him. Looking at the offense he ran in high school he looks like a more down hill runner to me. Not to say he can't run the zone, but this kid has the jets and I want him to go north and south NOW

We shouldn't have run that crap with Homer, much less Lingard.

We need these elite guys hitting holes fast.

UM

Would the fact we recruited a real fullback suggest we're headed in that direction?

How many pushups?

52. The dude he beat had about 38.

Not that 52 isn't a lot for those of us on this board, but I woulda thought it'd be a lot more than that.

I'm 2 months away from 59, haven't worked out in 8 months with a torn bicep out of its socket and a torn rotocuff that need to be cut and re-attached to the bones on JAN 25. I could still get down and do 30, I'd have tears in my eyes from the pain but I'd do more than that in front of a hundred other guys like they had . Last year before the injury I could blow by 52, I can't believe out of all those great athletes 52 was the best they could do. Kind of shocked.

I think (hope) we're talking *pull-ups.

Ya I bet that's it, no way that could be pushups. I did 32 at the airshow in Ft Lauderdale at age 43, had all the little roid heads and marines go before me so I could try to do at least one better. The marine struggled to get 30, still have 5 T-shirts to prove it. Now i'm f broken down, wouldn't try 1. lol.

Regardless of what he does on the field here, I will forever appreciate the fact that he committed early, stuck with it, and served as the ambassador for this class and is still trying to flip kids to us.

Zone is a downhill run, particularly inside zone. You want a guy who puts his foot in the ground and slices through the backdoor immediately. Homer was awesome at that.

As much as Richt runs zone/read you need a RB who gets north/south right now.

A lot of these guys are mostly type 2 muscle fibers, good for explosive speed and Strength but not endurance. Those #s seem a little low but who knows

It was a time limit.

Also, most athletes are normally training with weights, and not just basic pushups. Skill acquisition is important, especially for endurance based body-weight work. If the body isn't used to doing something, it won't do as many. If you gave them a couple weeks of pushups, they'd do way more.
