Butch is the abviuos best choice. No reason to even discuss him. He will either be offered the job or not based on a character evaluation.

If he is out of the picture, Chud is the obvious best choice.

Chud has 12 years of NFL experience and connections.

The #1 thing these kids want is to play in the NFL. Chud can sell his player development better than anyone.

The #2 thing these kids want to do is win. Chud is the best x's and o's guy on this list by far. Chud will take whatever personal you give him and score points.

He did it with a running QB named Cam Newton in his rookie year. He has done it with drop back guys. The guy can coach em up.

Blustein who been around the game a lot longer than people here scouting all over the area said "Chud has the experience and resume for NFL HC, He's a call away for an NFL HC job again though."

I don't see how due to what's the inevitable at Indy. Don't see Chud getting nfl HC gig this offseason.

But do you realize Miamis best coaches all went on to be NFL HC's.
I don't get the Chud hate.

I don't think he's the BEST hire. But he's a good hire and would get job done and would have a REAL staff. Miami basically was built on coaches springing towards becoming NFL HC's.

If I had my way I would give Butch the job because it would bring excitement back but he's just not realistic right now. He's gonna have to do and show a lot to the president and BOT's to win their hearts over. Did hear a rumor he's trying to get the NCAA to meet with them with Butch to show he didn't do anything wrong. Have no idea how much truth to it.

Only thing on Butch side right now is alumni, fans, some players, and a few of the older BOTs still like Butch.

Chud is boring. Dude has no fire. Talk about a snoozer. He is a decent X and O's guy, not spectacular. I mean other players said they knew what play we were running, they just couldn't stop it because of our talent and execution. Color me not impressed.

Mario- **** this dude, he was fired from FIU. Bama fans hate him cause they feel the O-line is woefully underperforming. If he becomes HC, we are donzo.
Now, as a recruiting coordinator, I'd take him.

Herman- a gamble. Has fire, is organized, holds players accountable. Lack bigtime program experience. I would be comfortable with this hire, especially if he can wrangle some consessions from UM admissions.

Geo, I'm not really directing my anger at you, so I apologize if that's how it's coming off. I realize he isn't your first choice. I'm just flabbergasted by the information itself.

Miami recruits itself to a degree especially if we let former players back around the program again that helps recruiting emensliy, so, the Mario obsession just because he can recruit is the definition of dumb hire.

This program is in shambles. Whether we want to lie to ourselves or admit it, this is the reality: Miami football is on life support.

- Our stadium was ripped to shreds and demolished
- We have not won more than 9 games in 12 years
- We are 1-6 in bowl games the last 10 seasons
- We have a losing conference record since 2004
- The atmosphere around this program is toxic.
- Our attendance is lower than it's ever been. Nobody wants to show up. The community has now enthusiasm about this team


We are a national afterthought. At some point the sleeping giant just becomes a deceased former legend. We need a savior. We need a bad *** that can come in here and completely shock the daycare culture Shalala and Golden built.

You have to make a big splash of a hire. You can't accomplish this by bringing in small potatoes fvck arounds like Dud and Wario.

You either hire Butch to build Miami again and re-energize the program by rallying the family, or you bring in a certified ******* savage whisperer in Herman and let him do his best Urban Meyer impression and def@qqotize this program before it's too late.

Settling for these uninspired "Miami guys" like Dud and Wario would be the sentencing us to the gallows.

If they rule out Butch completely. I want Herman really bad but I have no idea yet what interest Herman has in Miami or Miami has in Herman but I swear on it, I see a Jimmy Johnson type of attitude in that guy. He will whip this ******* team in shape and let them go out there and kick ***.

I didn't agree with Larry on how he wanted Cristobal though. Cristobal not ready for this IMO

Unfortunately, the geekification of football could be UM's downfall. All the recruiting nerds are slobbering on Mario's sack, and UM has already mentioned that it wants a great recruiter as its next HC.

Everyone understands the importance of recruiting. But what the recruiting geeks like Bluestain don't understand is that you don't recruit in a vacuum. There's no such thing as a recruiter who can recruit no matter how your team is doing on the field. It doesn't exist as Folden and Coley have clearly proven. 2 renowned recruiters who can't sign any hot recruits because everyone knew Folden was a loser and fraud.

You recruit in relation to the heat surrounding your program. You get heat around your program when: a. You make an initial hire and fans and recruits get hope of a turnaround; b. You WIN FOOTBALL GAMES. The "b" part of the recruiting success formula is the most important part because it's ongoing and long-lasting.

The "a" part works with any new HC at UM. You saw both Randy and Folden benefit from the "a" part, and I'm sure Beanerdict Arnold would too. The problem is the "b" prong. That's where UM has failed. No one can recruit anywhere when you are losing because your HC sucks. Beanerdict, like Randy and Folden, sucks.

Main point here is. Alumni is in favor for Butch and some recruits and players and the other part of the alumni want Chud. Lot of recruits like Mario.


Butch with Mario in some capacity on staff could be interesting.



Butch still got a long way to go but you know the alumni are going to put pressure on administration and president.
