MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

Because Purdue is in established conference that is looking to expand, without worries of where their affiliation lies in the near future, the teams you mention are holding on to a conference on life support, and do not have a clear outline for their future.
So because they're already in the B1G... Lmao. That's my entire point. They don't bring anything to the table. They should not receive any MORE MONEY upon a renegotiation than they already do.

I just don’t see the Big 10 getting rid of any of its “legacy” members.
Maybe Rutgers leaves at some point, giving up on FBS altogether if it can’t get a life raft to get out of the hole.
But the Big 10 also rans are not going anywhere (Iowa, Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern, etc). Those schools help in the academic area and beyond that, they are needed to help prop up the 3-4 teams at the top.
The media giants dangle $XBs to SEC and B1G teams to form a super conference and I suspect several weak *** ADs gonna see Gozer the Penetrator ariving at their office .00000001 secs afterwards....

Purdue is a R-1 research school (there are only 187 schools with this distinction) so they definitely bring something to the table in terms of belonging to the B1G conference.
Having a very high profile MBB also adds to their resume, although for reasons only to be argumentative you chose to ignore.

He continues to yap about football TV ratings as if that is the only factor to consider IN THE BIG TEN.

Now, that might be a more important factor in the SEC, but the Big Ten brings in a LOT of research money. In addition to football money, of course.

Purdue is going nowhere. You can't have all top end programs in a conference or super conference. What I'd like to see end and what I believe would benefit the sport is prohibiting Group of 4 teams from playing lower tier FBS teams and FCS teams.

I’m waiting for you to list a single thing Purdue is superior at than Duke. And Duke wouldn’t deserve an upgraded payout from where the B1G programs are already receiving

Duke absolutely deserves more money. Research and basketball. AND they won the ACC this past year.

Yes, Miami had all the CFP success. But outside of that, Duke outdid us this year.

Fax.

... .And what is Duke making compared to Purdue, and is it at all realistic to predict Duke ever makes more than Purdue in conference distributions by 2035 EVEN IF they gained B1G/SEC Membership.

What I'm saying is so incredibly simple. Duke is a better conference program than Purdue, if we started from scratch today. There are a bunch of other pograms not currently in the SEC+B1G that if started a P2 conference league from scratch would be chosen OVER current B1G+SEC members.

Therefore when the B1G renegotiates its deal, there is no leverage for some of these programs to be receiving equal distributions. the talk SHOULD be about some of these schools getting the boot from these P2 Conferences. But thats not going to happen, but they're lucky that isn't going to happen, as thats the only reason they aren't being left behind/in the B12 or whatever new athletic IVY that gets created when the ACC implodes..... Which is why I'm saying their current distribution amount should just be frozen at current level which is already more than they are worth and more than any acc+b12 team makes and likely will make even by 2035...
