Exit fee squabble may cost Utah Valley WAC tournament play

The WAC has threatened to leave Utah Valley out of the men's and women's basketball tournaments over a $1 million payment it says the school hasn't made. The UVU men's team is the top seed in the conference.

Im in the minority opinion however I don’t foresee any conference collapse around the horizon. Feels like something drastic would have to happen for the p4 system to get disrupted.

A new football subdivision is coming.. no matter the form or semantics. You cannot rule 136 teams under the same rules. Ohio state and butler do not have the same academic missions, financial resources, sports offerings, nor student populations. Until you fix that, this problem isn't going anywhere. Too many cooks in the kitchen at the division 1 level.

Yes, but I think the tournament size quells all the possible issues that may arise. Every conference gets a chance to play, the larger conferences get multiple bids, the RPI system is well-established, etc. Everyone pretty much buys into the system.
