Aint gonna happen- the SEC isn't taking a school where their football program isn't the top sport- AM- TX- OU- Mizzou- all four are football first..... Mizzou was basketball first years ago until Pinkel took over and they became a consistent top 25 program.
UNC is a basketball first school and everyone expects the SEC to want them.

Oh, good lord, you have got to be ****ting us.

Mizzou is not, and never has been, "football first". I realize that in the past couple of years, the laws of the state of Missouri have allowed them to start paying in-state players while they are still in high school, but for the love of God, please stop bull****ting about this "consistent Top 25 program".

In the ELEVEN years Pinkel corched Mizzou before joining the SEC, they won 10 games or more (and were ranked in the Top 25) exactly THREE times. That is not "consistent" at all. In fact, in the 6 years leading up to SEC membership, Mizzou went 8-5 in 3 of those 6 years.

"Until Pinkel took over". Yeah, whatever. In his first SIX YEARS, he went 37-35 overall, and 20-28 in-conference, with only 3 ****** bowl games during that tenure.

I'm from Missouri. SHOW ME. You just tried to shotgun some ****post about Mizzou and Pinkel that simply isn't true. Post-Pinkel, Odom was a disaster, and it took until 2023 (in Drinkwitz's FOURTH year) for Mizzou to ever get back to the 10-win level.

Basketball school.

You're right- I will believe it when I see it. UNC averaged just over 50,000 per home game last season- which would put them above only Vandy in the SEC. I think they go after Clemson and Miami first- maybe FSU is in that mix as well. If they were to land those three, I could see them grabbing UNC to round it all off. I don't think the SEC cares about UVA in any capacity- and I don't think they care about creating a conference map like the BIG has. I just hope Miami lands in the SEC.

Basketball school.

They haven't been a basketball first school for many years now. Stop living in the Norm years. Pinkel played for 4 conference championships during his tenure at Mizzou- 2 in the Big 12 and 2 in the SEC and tied for first in the Big 12 North another. Two of those times, if they won the conference title game- they play for the national title. If you truly know anything about Mizzou football- then you would know what Pinkel accomplished there was a fuuuucking miracle.

Pinkel took Mizzou to 10 bowl games and had 5 10-win seasons- you forgot that part. Pinkel won conference division titles five times (one was a tie) in an eight-year period between 2007 and 2014. That stretch tied Alabama and Florida State – the only other schools that can boast of such similar success. You also forgot that part. Five times Mizzou teams finished ranked in the Top 20, including two in the top five. The NFL also drafted 32 Tigers in the Pinkel era, including seven first rounders. You also forgot this as well.

Mizzou basketball has NEVER BEEN to a Final Four.....again- stop living in the old Big 8 days and pretending like you know about Mizzou football- outside of what you google. The stadium improvements alone will tell you where the football program is now.

You obviously didn't follow Mizzou football- as they easily surpassed basketball as the schools prized athletic program. And since I hold a degree from there- I am guessing I have followed the program much deeper than you have.

And what does Odom have to do with Mizzou being football first- they canned his *** after going 25-25 in 4 years- with his first year being the worst.

Miami has played for 1 conference title in all their years in the ACC- Pinkel accomplished that 4 times in two different conferences. Nice try with the googling of Pinkel and pretending like you know anything about his accomplishments at Mizzou- because you know- you are from the Show Me state.

Get the **** out of here with that nonsense.

I don't want to hear about all of these Gary Pinkel Fan Club statistics. I didn't "forget" anything. I don't give a **** about what he did in the SEC, because it has no bearing on your claim of whether the SEC took a "basketball school" when they took Mizzou.

YOU SAID that Pinkel made Missouri a "consistent Top 25 program", and that is a lie. I don't give a **** what Pinkel did when he was in the SEC, because that isn't relevant to whether the SEC took a BASKETBALL SCHOOL, which is exactly what Mizzou was (and is).

Again, I'm from Missouri. My entire family is from Missouri. I've been following Mizzou my whole life. I have relatives who went to Mizzou.

Why don't you tell people about the big BASKETBALL rivalry between Mizzou and SLU (St. Louis U) that pre-dates any SEC membership?

The reality is simple, you exaggerated. You bull****ted. You made Pinkel out to be some permanent transformative individual who waved his magic wand and changed Mizzou from a basketball school to a football school. And that simply isn't true.

"Stop living in the Norm years". Shut your ignorant mouth. Norm Stewart coached at Mizzou for over 3 decades, and he is the REASON that Mizzou is a basketball school, not a football school. This alone says "basketball school":

And you're goddamned right that I pull stats from Google, I don't have all the numbers memorized. But as a guy who grew up in St. Louis and who only knew ONE Mizzou head basketball coach my entire life until my 30s, I certainly know what Norm Stewart did for Mizzou.

Compare that to the 30 YEARS OF **** being produced by Mizzou football and five different head coaches, with not a single 10-win season at all (but, hey, Mizzou had TWO 10-LOSS SEASONS in that span):

And while I can agree that Gary Pinkel improved things, by the time the SEC came calling, after ELEVEN YEARS, he still only had THREE 10-win seasons. Only THREE seasons of being ranked in the final Top 25. That's not a "consistent Top 25 program" as you claimed it was.

So, please, stop insulting everyone's intelligence, by acting like your daddy Gary Pinkel, with three good years, had transformed Mizzou from a basketball school to a football school by the time of the SEC bid.

Stop lying.

Nobody cares what you think. Not only that, you are wrong. UNC is the SEC's first choice, and UNC is the Big 10's first choice (assuming Notre Dame wants to remain an independent).

North Carolina is head-and-shoulders above Clemson, Miami, and F$U as an SEC first-choice. It is a done deal. The UNC Board wants the SEC. The UNC fans want the SEC. And the new UNC AD is an SEC guy who is absolutely going to pick the SEC over the Big 10.

You are one of the few dizzy porsters who doesn't realize what is going on. Your tiny brain is fixated on football game attendance, when that is not even a primary driver for these decisions.

I don't follow this like you do. Perhaps I could see squinting why SEC would favor UNC. But why would the BiG? Shouldn't we be above UNC now that we've shown we're committed to CFP and Tournament level talent and have the budgets and staffs to back it up?
