MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

The conference’s are waiting for things to unfold with legal stuff. Once that is finalized is when the domino’s will begin to fall, imo.

I am not stressed at all about this topic because I’m very confident where we and other programs are going to land. Plus, thanks to FSU and Clemson’s lawsuit (as I hinted very early in this thread about these schools working together), we made a great deal of money last year so it eases the pain of being in this ****** conference.

The crow eating in this thread is going to be epic when it’s all said and done.
Lot of doomers in here going to be saying “oh I knew we’d end up in the P2 the whole time” lol meanwhile they’ve been swearing up and down we’re getting left behind lol

I think we’d be so much better off in the Big 12. I assume we’ll somehow end up in the B1G and I really don’t think we’ll be treated well there. JMO. No info. Not trying to get info from people on it. It is what it is.
Long term, that would be suicidal for our program. Need to do everything humanly possible to get in a P2.

Who the **** watches B12 football with any regularity? For VIEWERS (which means $$$), you need to be playing against teams with a national audience ... like we did in the CFP. Those were all B10 & SEC teams and brought viewership that media partners get $$$ money for. Those are the games that in turn pay the school. P2 = programming slots / air time / national exposure. B12 / ACC = relegated.

I understand the fear but we’re going to be treated as bad or worse in the B1G than where we’re at and I don’t see the SEC letting us in there.

That was on us though. Our leadership dropped the ball.
At least our obituary was on the front page.

What do you mean by "treated well"?

This is about $$$. If we get a fair deal, we go.
B1G will have an uneven distribution model soon..based on TV ratings and performance..
Currently, every B1G team is going to be making $30mil+ more per year than us if we don't make the playoffs.. yes, northwestern and Rutgers and Purdue and Maryland will be making $30+mil more per year than us unless we make the playoffs.

The B12 is nowhere close to those numbers and is worse off than we are.

We will be abused by their refs and their administration just like we are in the ACC that’s what I mean. They will put us in a corner in favor of their poster children. Thats what I mean.

I disagree with that.

But even if it were true, that already happens in the ACC.

At least we can make an extra $30+mil a year in the B1G.

Yeah, it’s the devil we know. We still can dominate the ACC. We’re not doing that in the B1G. They’ll try to keep us down. Give me the B12. We’ll be treated as we should be and I think that conference is rising. There’ll be a lot of money there too.

Agreed! I started banging that drum this past season to great CIS critique, but I hope that we are seriously looking at the B12. If we can drag a few teams with us (and if we went to the B12, I'm sure there would be some ACC teams that followed), I feel like the B12 can rise up to at least a respectable #3 position for the conferences.

I always liked the "us vs. the world" mantra through the years. It wasn't a victim mindset though.

How has the administration been abused by the ACC? Bad TV deal? That's incompetence which affected every other conference member as well. Bad officiating? Same deal. Ask Duke if the Miracle in Durham was legit.

And of course, let's not get into whether Miami lived up to its billing as a yearly contender since when it was brought into the conference to begin with.

Prediction - wherever Miami ends up, the majority of this board will feel like Miami is not treated as well as every other conference member. As sure as the sun rises in the East, CIS will bemoan treatment from whatever conference Miami is in.

Yeah, @Memnon brought it up like 2-3 years ago and I didn’t get it but as time has gone on, I can see how we fit in and how it’s actually a pretty well run, good conference. Add a few higher level teams in and it’s a stronger and better conference than the ACC that’s I think could attract more attention nationally and in the south, non-coastal west and southwest than the B1G.

For every Duke Miracle play, how many horrible calls have gone against us in the ACC??? They literally took the SMU game away from us and gave us the loss. I watched the B12 refs in the playoffs and the refs from all the conferences. It wasn’t close.

B12
SEC
B1G
ACC

I believe most people on here would prefer the B1G over the B12 and that’s fine. I don’t agree with that and I think we’d be put in a corner there in the B1G. Yall are certainly free to disagree and are not in the minority I’m sure.
