Theoretically, the kid took a spot and an allocation of resources that otherwise would’ve been used on another player. Loss of opportunity is often used to defend against challenges to enforceability. Generally, as you may know, courts are more inclined to enforce LD the harder it is to estimate actual damages at the time of contract. They have a reasonable shot at enforcement, imo.I don’t know if the court will allow them to factor that into their losses. Obviously, we know that’s the play here for UGA. But that’s a huge ask. I just don’t see a judge buying it. Their recruiting hasn’t tanked since the kid transferred, right? So what are we talking about?
