MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

I used to be an advocate for our own venue but eh, **** it. I think it’s time to accept reality that it ain’t happening. If billionaire connected Mario Bro (Ruiz) couldn’t do it then no one can. The only way it ever happens is if the Marlins leave and give our land back to us OB Natives but even that’s a stretch assuming the Marlins moved somewhere else. They’d probably build a high rise in its place if they tore that **** down.

HR is fine when there are big games there. Our fans show up for that. They won’t show up for Miami vs Duke but if our rivals come to town or other big brands, we will put down our coconut ****tails and make our way over.

FAU’s stadium is actually pretty nice though.
Hate to break it to you, but fans didn't show up for Miami vs Duke while IN the OB.

Agree with it, but will believe it when I see it...we will see how turning down that high profile visit to their campus/home game plays out...
More than likely it's bigger schools in contention who already sell out every game. They are the ones due to hurt from this MOU. Small schools won't care because they aren't near the CFP bubble and could use the ND bump. But that still puts ND in a tough position. If they lose all major opponents, their argument to even be in the top 12 becomes questionable.

their schedule this year was already sketchy without UM ATM Pitt and USC.

its not dissimilar to us in the perception of the ACC though.

we will need big time opponents non conference bc the ACC is seen as fourth tier in difficulty.

I am good with ******* ND, but I don't see Miami or a major division one university in a college town boycotting that match up unless it is replaced with another big time opponent...

PSU for example is not going to swap out that major influx of money from ND with a ****ball P4 player or schedule filler.

A loss against Notre Dame next year almost means we need to win out.

ACC schedule is so soft. We have Clemson, FSU, BC, Pitt, VT, UNC, Stanford, and Wake Forest.

Pitiful. Two losses next year is going to be brutal from a resume standpoint unless we get an ND win again.

It's not crazy to think this year isn't an anomaly in terms of a world where an ACC team doesn't get into the playoffs. ACC needs to push for 16 team playoffs if they want to assure themselves at least 1 spot in the playoffs and give themselves the best shot at 2 teams.

I don't think there's any world where 2 ACC teams get into a 12 team playoff moving forward.

You can afford 1 loss a year imo. That’s it

It is pretty amazing how much Bevacqua has hurt ND's image in just a few days. It couldn't happen to a more deserving school and fan base.

Once they get over being butthurt on missing out on the CFP, they are going to have to take a hard look at whether this independent thing is really workable for them going forward.
I don’t understand their obsession with being independent. Any time anyone brings up moving to a conference, their fans attack like somebody just told them they are shutting down the program.
