Regardless of what happens with the ncaa sports bill trying to get passed by Tommy T and the gang, Miami will be giving its notice by the June 2027 notice deadline to begin play in fall 2028

Miami has been exploring different scenarios to fund/amortize the ACC fee, but with the BigTen/Fox being able to enter Florida and one of the biggest tv markets in the country, Miami will be getting some extra perks to help offset the acc exit fee that other recent BigTen additions didn’t get

It also helps that Miami and Mario are back to prominence…… A Natty this year could really help sweeten the deal

I agree that their is no incentive for ND to go to the B1G right now. That could change if the ACC loses their top 4-6 teams, and ND is left with a commitment to play 6 mediocre teams, leading ND to consider joining the B1G to find a competitive game. Even then, the B1G is unlikely to give ND the same deal as the ACC gives them.
 
This is what our federal government is spending cycles on? Queue Spiderman meme for conference bosses and politicians. The corruption runs deep.

Because the lawsuit was dumb. It ignored the fact that every school in the conference agreed to remain for the sake of the conference remaining intact.

Schools leaving without a buyout was not going to happen and if it did, it meant an end to every one left out. Miami handled it brilliantly and left the legal fees and bad PR to the Noles and Tigers. The compromise only bennefitted Miami this year.

Miami now waits till the buyout is affordable before announcing any interest.

So the lawsuit was dumb but the resulting compromise benefited Miami and made the buyout more affordable?

The lawsuit wasn’t dumb and neither the Noles nor Tigers cared about fees or “bad” PR.

Correct. Zero incentive unless the top teams in the ACC leave to the BIG/SEC and they run the risk of getting locked out. I also agree that the BIG will not be as flexible as the ACC.
