MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

Excuse no. 3”were being the good partner”

We’ve given enough back of the DUMPSTER fellatios to STFU. Ready to graduate to GIRLFRIEND now?… gents we learned this in the 80s. SHUT MOUTHS DONT GET FED.

Again, not sure what you think constitutes an "excuse", but you are one of the dumbest posters on the board, and you don't have a lot of heated competition for that title.

The Grant of Rights is now dead and buried, even though brain-dead porsters told us how ironclad it was.

But, sure, schools that pay $30 to $40 million PER YEAR for football NIL alone are going to be scurrrred of a slightly higher conference exit fee, and are going to sit around watching the P2 payouts go up every year in order to save a few buyout bucks...

Unintelligent people like you have no concept of how the business world operates.

See you next year, genius.

Why? Do you have something lodged in your ****** again?

Understood.

For clarity’s sake though, we do know that in addition to the veto power, certain schools will also be receiving higher portion of the revenue as well. Obviously, since we know that these schools will be some of the schools planning to leave to the conference, this does offset those exit fees in a way, no?
The AGREEMENT does not stipulate specific schools to receive a higher portion of revenue .... only that 60% of the revenue to be distributed will be distributed based on a formula taking into consideration VIEWERSHIP.

If the P2 is legit delivering 15-20M more per team to their members due to football than the ACC/B12, then I'd say we shouldn't be locked in at 2030. A $75M buyout is a 4 -5 year payback. That's worth it. We can argue whether it's worth it before then.
The GAP between the P2 media payout and the ACC is likely going to be much greater than the 15-20M referenced above. Especially by 2027-2028. And it isn't just the media payout differential that is important ... big game programming and AIR TIME / VISIBILITY / VIEWERSHIP are also crucial as is RECRUITING. Elite players prefer the SEC and B10 over the ACC and B12, and that is only going to be more pronounced as access to national viewing spots is more controlled by the P2 (Friday night B10 Football; The SEC on ABC). That means you leave as soon as the networks signal to the conferences that they are ready / prepared from a PROGRAMMING CAPABILITY to handle the expanded conference schedules.

Absolutely.

The damage that will be done within a few years of sitting around waiting for the buyout to drop by a few mill is nearly insurmountable.

Miami needs to jump at the first P2 opening, regardless of the size of the check that must be cut.

Fvck all this "easier pathway" nonsense.

Let’s make a very EASY BET

CANES announce out by Labor Day 2026 - BAN ME

CANES don’t - YOU ARE PERMANENTLY BANNED

Easy. You in?

What a ******* dopey post by you. But I expect nothing less.

You are the person saying that it is going to take years and years.

So I'll make this a very easy bet. If Miami is out of the ACC before 2030, you are permabanned. Furthermore, you will provide your government name to DMoney, and he can make sure that you are also banned from the UM campus and Hard Rock Stadium.

As I said, announcements will commence next summer. Expect UNC to be the first domino. The pacing after that will depend on a couple of things, the largest of which is Notre Dame.

Enjoy your false sense of superiority, based on your overconfidence about an impending event that simply has not happened yet. Determining legal rights and removing (potentially) hundreds of millions of dollars in speculative GOR damages are important issues that did not follow a set timeframe.

This whole ban-bet strategy did not work out so well for STG.

A little over 3 years since I made this thread and we're still in this ****** ******* league, huh?

Embarrassing.

Sad, yes.

The embarrassing part is that the ACC agreed to such a ridiculously long and (not ironclad) unenforceable Grant of Rights that gave no consideration and lasted longer than ESPN's opt-out clause.

I just hope 1. you’re right about Miami BOD and Donors not waiting for the buyout to go down and 2. The BiG really will pick us up. If we can’t clear those two hurdles, I don’t see this ending well for Canes football.
