MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread(Its still personal)

In the FSU filing against the ACC the Swofford issues are mentioned. Raycom was out of the ACC media deal from 2008-2010. When ESPN was preparing their bid for 2010 they were basically instructed to "include" Raycom ... and the COST to the conference for artificially propping up Raycom was stated as $82 million per year in reduced revenue to the ACC Conference ... from 2010 through 2024 that amounts to $1.15 Billion dollars. The conference has operated as a private entity for the betterment of Swofford, his son, and ACC Conference employees rather that serving the financial interests of the conference.

This came out a few months ago, Swofford and ACC were god **** rats

My bigger question is, how dumb is ESPN to think that this level of “insider trading” wouldn’t get brought to light…. Especially when many of the conference schools are public universities and all the freedom of information and transparency of financial reporting for those public universities.

ESPN and ACC conference are gonna get dealt a major blow when this all gets brought out into the open.

Not an accident that ESPN appointed counsel last week even though they aren't being sued by FSU. ****, they should be sued by the ACC members along with ACC management for fraud.

There are really only 2 possible outcomes.

The Fit hits the Shan and its nasty for everyone involved.

or

It quietly gets resolved with some back room deal that keeps all the dirty details behind closed doors.

Which do you think is more likely?

Agree with you and of course it's #2. Everyone will have a landing spot and the insider stuff will either never come out or trickle out many years from now.

New TV deal for the ACC?
For WHAT ACC? One without FSU / Miami / UNC / UVA / Clemson / ND? Absolutely will see a new TV deal for an ACC conference without those teams. Might end up with a merged B12 / ACC in that case. ACC only with fill in teams like UCONN / WVU / USF? Will be lucky to get a new deal at $30 million per year per school.

That number seems a bit lower , than I thought it would be so
That make sense.
Comments were that one factor that drove the money down is the "5+7" format ... so that is 5 highest ranked conference champions + next 7 highest ranked teams. So you have a B10, SEC, ACC, B12 and Group of Five champion + the 7 at large. The group of 5 champ and even B12 ... provide lower value games and that impacted the bid price. The "industry expectation" was for a $2.0-2.2 Billion per year contract and it ended up at $1.3.

Was an interesting read by an analyst who did some research on Project Osceola ... an FSU funding request that will end up as an approximately $500 million dollar bond bid request sometime this year. They are targeting $116 million for a new football operations facility; $265 million for renovation of Doak; and other funds to be used to potentially cover all or part of the ACC conference exit fee.

In their revenue projections in the project they show $40.6 million in 2022 ACC media revenue and project $78.9 million for 2026, and in their documentation they mention "or other conference affiliation". The analyst said the timing on the decision to float the bond issue is still pending. They might wait until the ACC departure issue is "settled", unless that issue still pending is not viewed to impact the interest rates on the bond issue. Ferman on Canesport is stating that
"no back channel offers exist" for FSU or Miami. So that must mean a deal has been done.
