- sec in contact with unc and uva. Main players want unc to sec
- Unc has offer for sec and uva would be travel partner
- Clemson does not have home yet - big ten hasn’t said they want them yet and sec doesn’t know if they want to go beyond 18
- unc may sue next because Clemson doesn’t have guaranteed home. Only so many chairs
Back to genetics on big ten
- yes they wanted unc but expect them to go sec at this point- very additive to SEC - flagship schools in contiguous states. Carolina hoops value is so huge disproportionately it makes up for their football
- notre dame is target after fsu - they will hold off on 20th member hoping for nd - new AD and new president
- so far have not gone into where when for Miami as opposed to what they said about Clemson
- Big ten static media value 90m if ND not including playoffs - if not them and it’s a Miami or Clemson it’s 75m. That’s why they want to ask
- nd by itself is 225 m a year in new rev
- fsu plus nd is 311m a year in new static
- If it’s not nd but fsu and Miami or a unc it’s 175m in new static revenue so yes Miami still adds a ton of rev just not as much as nd
- big ten 2030 tv contract will pass $10b - bigger than premiere league, IPL and near MLB
If notre dame wants to do breakaway but not join conference they would have to play 5-6 big ten and 2-3 sec
If you pay 150m you’re going to get 425 m back from big ten conservatively
