MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread(Its still personal)

Got to look at the bigger picture. ESPN would make A LOT more $$$ by programming games between FSU / Clemson and UGA, Tennessee etc. than they get from FSU vs Syracuse. Big time game programming is what realignment is all about.
100 right here.

What happens if they go Big10?
IF FSU / Clemson are announced as a). Leaving the ACC and b). Going to the B10 (ie announcement in January - March) there is speculation that "others" might be leaving as well and the ACC is backfilled with Uconn / WVU or similar programs in addition to the Stan/Cal/Smu to keep ACC membership at 15. A couple of Clemson BOT members "reportedly" stated to one of the Warchant dudes at the game last week that "FSU & Clemson are going together to the Big". SO ... does the Big take more than two right now? Do the "others" go SEC (UNC / UVA)? Is UM standing pat in the ACC until "the next wave" of realignment moves after FSU / Clemson are done? One thing appears to be clear ... the GOR isn't the road block once perceived as the conference realignment is NETWORK DRIVEN and there is a lot of horse trading apparently going on to facilitate moves and lessen economic penalties.

Looks like we’re doing another cycle of speculation that’ll end up leading to nothing but more speculation. Unless there’s some negotiated exit, the GOR isn’t just this little pesky thing you can get around. You’re talking years of litigation.

I don't believe you are. Programs are not making a decision to unilaterally leave on their own. You don't see BC or Syracuse making waves ... you ONLY see comments regarding the TOP VIEWER BRAND PROGRAMS that are desired by key network partners in either the Big 10 or SEC for big game matchup programming potential and $$$ from sponsors on the Big Ten and SEC networks. There is network negotiation taking place ... and THAT is who holds the ACC media rights ... a network. ESPN can end up negotiating whatever deal is convenient for them and those negotiations include such things as the playoff media deals from 2026 on ... which several networks are negotiating the splits right now. Lot of moving pieces .... it is not simply a GOR ... that is "ironclad".

The ACC is where it's at. SEC is a sinking ship. They'll bounce back but they're sinking right now in football. It's hilarious to watch the ESPN coverage as they struggle to prop up their investment.

Why would you leak that you're making an announcement at some point in the next few weeks instead of just making the announcement? That doesn't make any sense. You also give the ACC plenty of time to formulate a response.

Again, unless there's a negotiated exit with the conference, I don't see how you avoid years of litigation.
