Conference Championship Saturday

It “shouldn’t” matter if Bama drops between us and ND… we can and still should flip spots with them… step 1) BYU out after this game… 2) We are adjacent to ND so the flip happens… 3) Bama loses this evening and drops a spot

well you just have not been paying attention to reality the last three weeks.

if Bama loses the committee will just drop Alabama behind Notre Dame- taking the BYU spot.

and keeping Miami and ND from "head to head" comparison.

it is AS PLAIN AS DAY.

This is possible. That said, is it worth the fallout? There is national interest in Miami being rank ahead of ND and the optics of not correcting that damages their brand.
They need a hook to justify expanding the playoff. Us getting left out behind a team we beat a pretty good one. Bama getting left out after losing the SEC CG would be another good hook to justify expansion, but doubt that happens unless UGA rips Simpsons throwing arm off

If Tulane makes the CFP playoffs, will get absolutely smoked in the first round
Tulane is in as the highest ranked G5 conference champ

and if Duke wins, they will either go with JMU or Duke

I would bet $1000 they will choose the ACC champ and then that allows them to say "well Miami didn't win their own conference but we are not biased against the ACC"

we want UVA to win.

Not necessarily. Committee can still argue 11-2 > 10-2 esp if today is a close loss in a conf championship game.
correct

love how some dummies believe "well the committee HAS to do this"

oh really?!?!

how well has that worked out the last 4 weeks?!?

they can do whatever the @#$@# they want to do!

how many more examples do you need?

BYU hasn't played anyone decent other than Tech. Two straight losses to them shows BYU can't beat a playoff team. Also, no one on the CFP or running a network wants to see BYU in.

Yes. But they are in the playoff now 100%. Theyre the highest ranked G5 champion. I don't understand how ESPN has their odds at 95% and not 99%+ like the other locks

because it could be that Duke wins and is then ranked higher or in the new rankings JMU is ranked higher.

you really think there is a difference between 95% and 99%

Why is TTU playing 2 high safeties still? I would out both of them in the box till Bear shows he can still throw the ball down the field

if BYU loses THEY ARE NOT GETTING IN

the only discussion is will they still be ranked ahead of Miami.

and of course the committee could do that and say "we are not going to penalize conference championship game teams"
