Concern about the OL

We’ve got a lot of highly-coveted guys on our OL. You dudes need a better understanding of football and quit spewing the John Madden cliches. OL doesn’t operate in a vacuum.

When the entire offensive system is busted, the OL will look like **** just like EVERY OTHER POSITION on offense did last year. With a vastly improved system in place, the OL will look much better.

OL got their **** pushed in yesterday. Enos and Barry need to find a way to make them at least decent. If not, they’ll cost us several games.

We have posters ranting about our OL after10 years of that unit doing a football version of toll-by-plate when it comes to blocking opponents.
Amazing how they just noticed.
Kinda cute if you ask me.

To help the oline they can always widen their splits which is what Washington state often does. We have 3 solidified spots in Donaldson , scaife and gaynor and need to find solutions at right tackle and right guard. Personally think some guys will emerge on the roster but we will see

Brock always has good input and this one no different.

With weakness in numbers and physicality this spacing idea may be minuscule to the layman but HUGE in line play.

I’m surprised with all the OL attention and my experience it completely escaped me and I omitted this “ split “ idea .

Brother Brock your a student of the game impressive post here.

Donaldson would get eaten alive with wide splits. We don’t have the athleticism.

Point taken here but splits assist in taking DT momentum deflection pushing away from runners and QB key here is RB and QB reading this deflection as hole opens wide as DT blows by.

Dies this make sense in application?

Example:

Willie Jones South Dade high school back in the day 1973-74 All American DE huge stud.

I held him to ZERO sacks and 2 assists tackles, this was the game I got noticed as a OL tackle at 230 way under sized as a freshman but deflection taking his momentum and taking him out of the play every time.

Let me try rephrasing this because apparently reading comprehension isn't as pervasive as I would've hoped.

I am not familiar with individual players who might be interested in transferring here. Does anyone know of any particular players who would address our obvious weakness and lack of depth on the offensive line?

If you have something to contribute, please do so. If you just want to be a douchetastic twatwaffle, please refrain and go back to the Gator boards where you belong.
Upvoted for "douchetastic twatwaffle" Well done sir.

Hope you’re right. But prepare to be disappointed. We have very few guys who are competent OL. It’s not just that our coaching made them look bad, though it did. It’s also we have evaluated poorly, recruited poorly, and developed poorly on OL. Let’s hope the few guys we got stay healthy.

IMO Scaife is a legit OL, Donaldson should be if he gets in shape, and Gaynor should be serviceable. Campbell and Reed have potential but there will be learning curve challenges. Beyond those guys it looks grim. Brown has shown nothing in his time at UM. Kennedy, hope he can adjust to the competition level. Dykstra lol. Hillery and Herbert, not a fan of those evaluations.

Can you post something more stupid. Did you see the scrimmage? Or just an expert on seeing the players develop over the summer. Welcome to the ignore list
Lmfao

QP is harder than a stick of butter left outside in August.

Our OL bend like Sophia on golden girls

Our OL is straight trash. Probably not in the top 100 in CFB. We need both a good transfer immediately eligible and some quality roids to those guys ASAP.

Only guys that can conceivably even play D1 football: Scaife, Donaldson, Gaynor, Reed, Hillary (maybe)

Herbert is soft and a major bust. This kid Kennedy out here getting bullied, Dysktra lol. We're in trouble here
How do you know Reed can play

I think people are getting in a twist about this because our OL has been an issue and it was a constant subject this entire offseason. We got what was presumably the #1 OL transfer that as out there and then were after several others

It was discussed pretty extensively hence the *****iness I think

End of spring there will be new players in the portal. We will see. Manny already said he will be paying attention to the portal after spring.
