Feeling great about the W! The players Character was on full display ... we played Canes ball in the second half.

Now for the post-mortem:
Team preparation is a cause for concern. On our two biggest games (LSU & FSU) we struggled mightily. The concern is that in both games we had ample time to be prepared.

Against LSU we had an entire off-season. Against FSU we had two days extra prep than they did. Both times we were favored and simply failed to execute to our standard. We know about our glaring problems OL and Special Teams. Can't we prep and scheme to lessen the impact?

Just my thoughts after a great victory.

Richt philosophy seems to be it doesn’t matter what the call is execute which can be extremely frustrating at times.

Most elite coaches have a script to open the game creative plays designed to get the team in rythm.

The only thing I see from Richt is let’s run the ball...... try a qb boot first play a rb screen not the predictable a gap dive.

VT last year, reverse pass to Rosier first play
ND last year wildcat and designed rosier runs to start the game
yesterday homer dives to start the game

gotta use that emotion early to get the team and the stadium rocking

This team lives and dies by turnovers, emotionally. Especially at home. This isn't a winning formula, but its our identity right now.

But, I do agree...the team comes out way too flat more often than you'd like. It comes off as unprepared and we double down with undisciplined play when things aren't going our way.

When we take Ls, these characteristics are front and center. When we get Ws, these things are nearly non-existent, ESPECIALLY after we a turnover and convert it to points.

What teams don't live on this?

IDK why CMR cant bring out 1-2 unique plays every game.... We have the elite O playmakers to just get silly..... freaking 1st play of the game, start out of the wildcat with DJ... anything different and funky to keep other teams wondering....

Absolutely. We've looked suspect against the only teams on our schedule with a pulse.

Preparation wasn’t an issue yesterday. Perry being amped up/nervous and missing throws and oline play were the problems.

We've had a lot of great teams in our history that dug themselves some big holes. They were great because we always came back. This is our biggest comeback since 2003. Once you believe you can come back from any deficit you become a great team. We are young and we are getting there.

We had two "big" games this year, we were hyped before the LSU game and we were more than just hyped up against this other team yesterday. I wonder how much this plays into our teams approach.
We were the underdog against ND last year and we came out like dogs... yesterday we seemed shocked and not expecting them to even compete

Play calling. I can literally predict 2 out of 3 calls. Those LB's were creeping forward pre-snap all game. Shotgun, ball in belly, repeat.. We don't mix it up enough & our QB running threat isn't a deterent for them stacking the box. I think we execute the RPO very poorly.

The first drive yesterday was blown by a drop on 3rd down. It was the first drop of the game, but hardly the last. How is that a preparation issue? If a coach calls a play, you end up open, the QB hits you in the chest with the pass and you STILL drop it, how is it on the play caller? It isn't, it's a case of guys not executing. In a lot of cases, Miami doesn't execute things well, and I look at the players for that. It shouldn't take an overly complicated gameplan to beat a team that can't stop the pass, nor do they tackle particularly well. Miami most likely wins by 10+ if Kosi doesn't airmail a couple of open receivers, and Cager actually uses his hands to catch, instead of trying to use his shoulder pads to trap the ball.

That said, Richt has to open up in regards to the run game. There's more than zone power in the book, try to get some other things going. Try to set them up by calling a play early, and then playing against the tendency late(The PA pass on that power run was there, no one was paying attention).
