1. An unknown hockey player is crazy dumb

2. If half this board spent a second watching the Panthers, their opinions would be different. Dudes a champ obviously, but he’s played through some gruesome injuries to win those cups and he talks some serious ****. Literally gets in the opponents heads just smiling at them. He is someone this fanbase would consider a Hurricane on ice.

And then the team suffocates opponents. They make the best players in the world look pedestrian. Prototypical Cane performances. They beat the **** out of you and have no panic even when their backs are against the wall. Would be a great guy to talk to the team to be honest

3. He LOVES it in Miami. So many guys have taken pay cuts to stick together on the team rather than getting paid significantly more testing the market. Their culture matters and has been reiterated by multiple people as a sticking point. Championship DNA
 
He's a great champion for a South Florida team, but he’s not a die hard Cane fan….

Correct...all yinz Buffoons talm bout an unknown hockey player, are really showing how stupid you are.

The Florida Panthers are THE BEST RUN HOCKEY CLUB IN NHL! An organization dedicated to winning, team culture, and dominating. 3 straight Stanley Cup final appearances, won 2 of 3. On a roll. Give me all the good vibes from that organization and Chucky, who is a dude, who helped to actively turn that organization around.
 
Put me in the camp that doesn't like this pick but gets it from ESPN/ABC's perspective.

I'm guessing this will be Matthew Tkachuk's first Canes game ever.

I graduated from Miami but I don’t root for any South Florida professional teams as I didn’t grow up in South Florida, I could give 0 ***** about them

The pick surprised some fans since Tkachuk doesn’t have ties to either Miami or Florida football. Still, he’s one of the biggest names in South Florida sports right now, and his energy should make for a fun show.

The rivalry game between Miami and Florida is set for Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.

no it's not. LOL It's not a showcase for any school. Yes, there are feature pieces on the team and/or individual players and usually the coach makes an appearance but it's a football show, not a Miami show. There will be plenty of features on other schools and/or players, too

great pick. you watch these pickers week in and week out and very few have a real connection to the school. some are fans of the school others are just celebrities. this guy is probably going to bring the **** Stanley cup, the greatest trophy in all of sports by far on set. that alone is worth the price of admission.
