Colbie Young is not hurt

They are in shambles — just like us. Whichever team makes more mistakes will lose.

That said, we’re better than them and should win. But who knows how we look after three straight losses.
I hope we tear them a new one but the last time it was a crap fest of the two teams we got Henson Hookered.

I thought when he signed in June we finally had a big body WR. He had offers from FSU, Tenn, Penn St, Pitt, VT and others so he wasn't unknown by teams. He showed yesterday he can catch with his hands. We signed him in June and yet it took almost 5 games for him to see field. Play everybody.
And most of those schools wanted to turn him into a tight end which is one of the reasons we got him

Colbie Young made two big plays that no other WR on this team can, or is willing to make.

1. Catch on the sideline. Ladson may be the only other WR capable of such a play, but he plays like he's 5'10". Colbie sold out and used every millimeter of his frame to keep his foot down in bounds.

2. The TD catch. Honestly, it was a thing of beauty. He stacks Grimes and uses his big frame to box him out while the ball is in the air. Then uses his strength to separate at the last second and come away with the catch(and he high pointed it, my God). Only thing Grimes could have done there is grab on to Colbie and probably draw a flag.

That was a play we were used to seeing Rambo make last year and we all know the numbers TVD put up with that type of deep threat. It's not all about speed, but rather positioning and playing the ball in the air. Colbie needs to take somebody's spot.

Also, let me add that we basically saw the same play call with Ladson on Grimes and the result was no separation and a poor job at using his height to high point the ball.

No reason for him not to get significant PT vs VA Tech, especially in the RZ. Him & Skinner are mismatches for most defenses due to their frames.

Skinner is a dude. The way he brushes off contact, man. But he did has a terrible drop on that last drive, and he was very lazy in getting to the sideline on the second to last play. But once he puts on weight, he's gonna be a handful.

Yeah man he had a brain fart on that final series but I cam live with that considering how athletic & explosive he is. He'll only get better.

He's a true freshman so yea I'm with you. It's the 5th year seniors making those mistakes that I can't get over.

Had a hard time understanding why he wasn’t out there on the last series, seemed he was a mismatch for NC on the previous series.

Overreactions aside, this kid sure made the most of his first opportunity at the D1 level. Good for him.

He played well enough to put pressure on the coaches to play him again next week. Let's see how the coaching staff handles it.

And at some point I would like to see what Horton can do
This!!!! I remember reading that Young and Horton were both high pointing and playing really well in camp. Young looked good when given a chance, Horton deserves that same chance.

Although the receivers looked light years better in a spread (crazy, i know), nobody's spot should be untouchable

spare me on experimenting when mallory and ivy have been costing on games for years.
This x10000. This theory that “If they practice great all week but it’s not translating to games then it’s up to the coaches to figure out why that is and keep coaching them up” is absolutely crazy and will cause us to go 6-6 or worse. Mario is being way too stubborn here
