A little late for the staff to put someone in that played so well....but whatever. Hope Young does what Greg Rous did, and make the staff look silly for not playing him in the first 4 games.
Sadly I think all we have is possession receivers.Ladson is a possession receiver. He's good when you need 5 yards on an out pattern.
He hasn't shown me anything between the hashmarks beyond 5 yards of the LOS.
And his blocking has been below average for a big man.
Our problem is “more talented” only equals slightly less trashDo other college teams have issues with more talented players collecting dust on the bench?
I feel like this happens every season here regardless of the coaching staff.
Regardless, Young looked like a beast.
And 5-8 yards on an out pattern is exactly the way we need to keep using him. I'm fine with that.Ladson is a possession receiver. He's good when you need 5 yards on an out pattern.

exactly!! WTF??? blows my mind!! the worse thing about it we all know that except the coaches!! smhWe don’t play the better players. Just like under Manny
In his first series of the year, more than some of our receivers in any full game this year.3 catches for 43 yards and yall acting like we've been sitting Andre Johnson lol.
Yeah probably, but I don’t know what Mario does anymore. Probably too focused on our mediocre O Line he doesn’t realize there are other position groups. How else do the Iveys, Flaggs, Mallory, of the world sneak in there?Mario is HC can a player not play if he wants him to play?
Not many of our guys have because we don’t throw vertically. Not enough anayways. TVD overthrows half of themLadson is a possession receiver. He's good when you need 5 yards on an out pattern.

Should have went to Tenn. Their offense is what we should be running. Similar to the Briles Baylor offense. Modern wide splits to take defenders out of the box and open the run game and create 1 on 1 in the passing game. Turned Hendon Hooker from a VT castoff to a beast. Young would look nice catching those deep balls Tenn throws in 1 on 1 coverageI thought when he signed in June we finally had a big body WR. He had offers from FSU, Tenn, Penn St, Pitt, VT and others so he wasn't unknown by teams. He showed yesterday he can catch with his hands. We signed him in June and yet it took almost 5 games for him to see field. Play everybody.
I thought we brought him in because of his size and raw potential. He was an unranked player when he signed, but had years of eligibility left, versus Ladson who has two I believe.I thought we brought him in because Ladson wasn't going to get it done. I thought his signing told us all we needed to know.
My over 40 baseball coach's son plays OL at Lackawanna. He had great things to say about Colbie.I did my research after we signed him & heard great things from people I trust. Don’t understand it at all. Also done with the greentree reports.
spare me on experimenting when mallory and ivy have been costing on games for years.Footballville said Young has not looked anywhere near that good in practice. And we know Mario has said he does not use games to experiment with playing time for guys who don’t produce in practice. I guess he’s a gamer but I’m hoping he takes strong game performance to improve his practice performance.
But this seems like only a Miami issue. Freshman play all over the country at other schools, yet at Miami they are never ready.Everything does , it’s usually because a seniority or the young guy can’t grasp the playbook as well
