Coastal Carolina

Ah the old I didn’t know what my players were doing/didn’t know the rules
When you’re student athlete advisors tell them they have to buy their books and then can buy whatever with what’s left.. nothing you can really do. The HC delegates that stuff to other people. They self reported right away and suspended the players for 1 game. FSU game iirc

Found this, but seems like a school issue, not a HC issue, per se.
Charleston Southern failed to monitor its athletics program when it improperly certified 55 student-athletes in 12 sports over a six-year period, according to a Division I Committee on Infractions panel. The university also did not monitor policies designed to ensure the correct administration of book scholarships
Ya it was majority football because that’s where most of the scholarship athletes are. They were misguided by someone on the financial aid/advisory side that said they could do it. We had to brief our team on the issue and had an NCAA compliance person give a presentation.. one of the football players had something like $5 and some change leftover after books and bought a pack of pens and had to serve a 1 game suspension for it.. and turn in the pack of pens.

My family knows him personally.. been out of touch for several years. But still. That being said I would pass on hiring him. Risky just from the jump in the type of job and pressure associated. It’s a different animal in the P5.

But if we did hire him I could see him being successful. I could also see it being a disaster
I am a huge fan of Chadwell. Think he’s incredible.

Ole Miss' and Houston Nutt's/Hugh Freeze's 21 NCAA recruiting and academic violations vacated 33 wins, multiple years probation, and show cause restrictions.

We're Chadwell's and that school's issues that bad?
Kinda, but I stand corrected.

I lost track of Ole Miss vacated wins.

Coastal looking like Miami trying to tackle in the 2nd half. Uncharacteristic of them.
Thought the same watching Houston in their first half. Their DBs looked like the worst of Hall and Bolden. Diving feet away from people like they were terrified of contact.

They’ve got NFL talent. The QB, RB, a WR, TE, and a Dlineman. Maybe more.

For reference the Moise kid we recruited doesn’t see the field there. 4 star kid in year 2.

Schematically.. both sides of the ball.. they’re probably a top 2 or 3 team outside the P5. Cincinnati, Coastal, and BYU.

How would you rank them in a P5 conference? Say the ACC for instance. If CC played our ACC schedule what would you think their record would be?

9-3 probably.

I’m not sure they’re big enough in the trenches to win week over week against some teams that are big and can grind you down. Like their center is 5’9 290. He’s a good player but how will he translate to playing much bigger dudes weekly?

But they can scheme it up and beat some teams they maybe shouldn’t beat. They would be respectable. I think they could beat Wake and that might be the best team in the ACC this year

Agreed about their Oline. I think they are the shortest in the country. I want to say their tallest guy is 6'3 on a good day.
